49 Winchester Reveals New Dave Cobb-Produced Album “Change Of Plans”

We don’t seem to be able to agree on much these days in these United States. But anyone who’s heard 49 Winchester tends to agree these Virginia boys are one of the best things going in music, taking country and Appalachian influences, and then bolstering them with frontman Isaac Gibson’s incredibly soulful voice. That’s why there a tingle of anticipation in the air as they have just released a new song, and announced that a new album is on the way.
It’s hard to believe this will be #6 for the 6-piece band when Change of Plans is released on May 15th. But this one might be the most important release of their entire career. Partnering with new label MCA while also still working with their previous independent label New West, Change of Plans will officially be the band’s major label debut. It was also executive produced by Dave Cobb, who oversaw recording sessions at his studio in Savannah, GA.
“It was an incredible honor to work with, for the first time, the great Dave Cobb and his crew to capture these sounds and stories while touring the world these past few years,” the band says. “Special thanks also to the legend Nick Farrow for bringing all the elements of this journey together into one epic landscape of art and package!”

After the release of Change of Plans, the band will then be exclusively singed to MCA. Along with Isaac Gibson, 49 Winchester features Bus Shelton on lead guitar, Chase Chafin on bass, Noah Patrick on pedal steel, Tim Hall on keys, and drummer Justin Louthian.
Ahead of the new album, 49 Winchester has released the song “Pardon Me.” Any ambiguity left from the lyrics and what the song might be about is cleared up by the video (see below). Really, it doesn’t matter what Isaac Gibson sings. He has a way of getting you to buy into all of it.
The new 10-song album will also include the band’s cover of Black Sabbath’s “Changes.” The song started out to simply be a tribute to Ozzy Osborne, but has taken on a life of its own from the treatment the Virginia boys put on it. You can see the full track list below. The album will be available in seven different color variants on vinyl, as well as CD and cassette.
Physical copies are now available for pre-order, as well as pre-save through streaming services.
