Kaitlin Butts Releasing Track List for New Album Via Cool Local Venues

Kaitlin Butts officially announced that she will be releasing her latest album, and her first on a major label called Hello, Honky Tonk come October 30th from Republic Records. Butts also has released a few early singles from the album, including “Never Really Mine,” “I Wanna Be Bad,” and “What More Could You Want” about giving it her all, which is how she’s gotten to where she is despite the odds.

Speaking of that extra hustle and Kaitlin’s creative streak, she’s decided to reveal the track list for the Hello, Honky Tonk album by enlisting some of the coolest honky tonks and country venues around.

On Tuesday (10/6), Luckenbach, TX and The Showboat Saloon in Wisconsin used their marquees to reveal the Kaitlin Butts song tracks. Previously, Billy Bob’s Texas and Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa revealed tracks as well. On Thursday, Jolene’s in Sydney, Australia reveal the sixth track as being called “The Joker.” Now fans are scoping out their favorite venues to see who might reveal a track next.

“As you know, we are BIG fans of Kaitlin Butts!” says The Showboat Saloon. “The Honky Tonk Queen picked Showboat Saloon to share that track 5 on Hello, Honky Tonk is called ‘I Make Cowboys Cry!’ Make sure to turn the sound on for a preview of the song! The new album is out October 30th!  – Giddy Up”

“The Honky Tonk queen, Kaitlin Butts graced our stage for a sold out show last November,” Luckenbach, TX said. “We are so excited to announce that track 4 for her new album, Hello, Honky Tonk, is ‘Never Really Mine.’ Can’t wait to hear the full record on October 30th!”

Along with being a cool way to reveal a track list, it’s also a good way to promote these important local venues, including ones Kaitlin has played in the past, and a few that she has future dates booked for as well. Along those lines, she’s also announced a select run of shows coming up later in the year, including an album release show at Skinny Dennis in east Nashville on October 29th that sold out within 4 hours, and a handful of shows in Texas and Oklahoma in December.

Oct. 29 — Nashville, TN — Skinny Dennis
Dec. 10 — College Station, TX — Harry’s Northgate
Dec. 11 — Helotes, TX — Floore’s Country Store
Dec. 12 — Corpus Christi, TX — Brewster Street Ice House
Dec. 17 — Oklahoma City, OK — Tower Theatre
Dec. 18 — Fort Worth, TX — Billy Bob’s Texas

Kaitlin Butts says of the new album, “With every song, I saw a character in a honky tonk. I’ve always loved the film version of Chicago and the way the musical numbers are presented almost like these little vaudeville vignettes, where you get to step into a character’s mind for a few minutes. I wanted to bring some of that feeling into a honky tonk and create this whole cast of characters that you might run into on a night out.”

We do know that Hello, Honky Tonk will be a 15-track album. But we still don’t know just yet what all the tracks will be. Here’s what’s been revealed so far, and who did the unveiling.

Hello, Honky Tonk is available for both pre-order and pre-save now.
