Braun Brothers Reunion Reveals Impressive 2026 Lineup

It’s a festival. It’s a homecoming. It’s a family reunion. It’s the Braun Brothers Reunion, and it’s one of the longest-running traditions in Texas music held in Idaho each summer. Reckless Kelly and their brother band Micky and the Motorcars might be synonymous with Austin. But they all originated in Idaho, and each summer they return home and drag some of the most badass artists and bands in the Texas scene and beyond with them.
2026 will be no different with Silverada, Hayes Carll, The Wilder Blue, Sister Sadie, Bruce Robison, Suzy Boggus, Cody Canada and the Departed, The Reeves Brothers, Jamie Lin Wilson, Shelby Stone, Idaho-based Tylor and the Train Robbers, and close Braun friend Jeff Crosby all taking the stage, along with Reckless Kelly, Micky and the Motorcars, Muzzie Braun, and the rest of The Braun Family.
This year it’s all going down August 6th to 8th in Challis, Idaho, not exactly convenient to anything, but far enough away from everything to give you a true getaway experience in the American West, while also taking in some excellent music. The Braun Brothers Reunion has now been going on for over 40 years.
“Our mission has always been to hand pick an all killer, no filler lineup and we hope you are all as fired up about this one as we are!” the Braun Brothers say.“We’re bringing back the usual suspects, some fan favorites, and of course, a few newcomers. They’ll all be on one stage so you’ll get to see them all, and you can bet they’ll be bringing the a game to Challis.”
Tickets are now officially on sale at braunbrothersreunion.com .

The only time anything is impressive is when Silverado is involved.

Hey trigger something showed up on my feed this morning, i thought i would mention. Its over in england and im pretty sure there are some fans on here from there. Its a festival called the long road. You may have already covered it but i dont remember it. Like i said since you do have european fans, i figured it earns a spotlight. I saw where emmylou harris, steve earle. Jim lauderdale among others was going to be there. If you have already covered it, sorry. My memory fails me some.

Yes, I saw that lineup. It’s basically an Americana festival with then Bailey Zimmerman randomly headlining. Wild curation there. But it does look like a good opportunity for folks in the UK to take in some good music. I might have something to say about it at some point.

I think emmylou has her share of country stuff. I know earle prob mostly does americana stuff now. I know since you prob wont go to it, its not big on your radar. But like i said you do have some commenrers from there.

Went to this in 2021 and 2023. It’s an amazing time and the landscape is stunning.
It’s just so difficult to make it because it requires flying in to Missoula, MT and then a 3 hour drive there. I’m going to try to make it again in 2027.

I think it is more like a 4 hour drive, but Boise is about the same or Idaho Falls about an hour less.

This one is hard to beat. Its a 2 day (pretty easy days or one 12 hour day) trailer tow for us but once in Challis, the world melts away.
If not this one then Saints Weekend in Stanley……Shane Smith and friends in the crown jewel of Idaho below the Sawtooths.

And another thing: Access.
The artists mingle with the crowd. I’ve had corn dogs with the Canada family, talked to Muzzie, nearly picked up Kaitlin Butts from the Boise airport, Shotgunned beer with Bri Bagwell, kids danced with BJ Barhams daughter, kids golf cart ride with Django Walker, and even a Jason Eady unbilled appearance. Seen Steve Earl, REK, Turnpike. You really feel like these artists are friends in the crowd. They’re at ease and comfortable. That’s the magic of the BBR

My favorite- or at least tied with mile 0. I won’t miss this one even though it’s a 12 hr drive- camp at runamuck and bein the middle of some great times in some beautiful scenery.

I remember seeing them in a steakhouse in Troy, ID in1980
It was just the two brothers sitting in a corner on barstools playing and singing
They told some great stories about the area they grew up in
I was new to the state as I was attending Univ of Idaho
I loved the homegrown songs
I still remember the first couple lines of Yankee Fork
