Couple Gets Engaged During EPIC Silverada Show at Unbroken Circle

Silverada’s show at the inaugural Unbroken Circle Fest in Madison, Indiana on Friday (9-5) evening was so epic and complete, it included an engagement. A few songs into the set, frontman Mike Harmeier told the audience that one of his good friends was there to see him, and introduced Isaiah to the stage. Then after a few words, Mike also called Isaiah’s girlfriend Madison to the stage. Before you knew it, a knee was taken, and she was saying yes.
But even if no engagement had transpired, Friday’s Silverada show felt like one for the ages. It was one of those shows that you stumble away from wondering how you can return to normal life with the way your face just got rocked off. Is Silverada still the greatest live band in country music? You betcha, lineup changes and all.
For those that might be unaware, steel guitar player Zachary Moulton left the band earlier this year. He’s now playing permanently with Jesse Daniel. At times, Silverada’s had steel player Adam “Ditch” Kurtz filling in when he’s not on tour with Joshua Ray Walker or running for Tennessee governor. But Silverada has also officially added keyboard player Parker Twomey to the lineup. Along with performing with Paul Cauthen for a few years, Parker is his own solo artist as well.
It might have taken a minute for Silverada to find their feet and their mojo after the shakeup in the lineup. But as they proved in beautiful Madison, Indiana Friday evening on the banks of the Ohio River, they’ve got their magic back big time. Do you miss the steel guitar? Sure. But they’ll find the right person to fill that spot eventually. For now, they’ve found their groove with keys.
Long time Silverada fans will remember back early in the Mike and the Moonpies days, they also had a permanent keys player in John Carbone. He’s appeared with them again on and off over the years. Much of their music was original written for keyboard, and recorded with it. But whatever configuration you can catch Silverada in, catch Silverada.
Mike Harmeier was in especially rare form Friday night, including taking an epic guitar solo (see below).

Their set at Braun Brothers was incredible. Don’t miss em!

I’m heading there Saturday. Turnpike and CWG! I was hoping for Silverada on Saturday as well. They don’t make it to Indiana often.
September 6, 2025 @ 4:29 am
It feels like you want to be crutchmer for Silverada sometimes.
September 6, 2025 @ 7:01 am
Not 100% sure what this means. All I can say is I had no intent of writing a dedicated review of Silverada’s set yesterday. They weren’t even headliners or direct support. They earned it. I’ve probably seen this band live more than any other in the last five years, and there’s no tiring of them. You see the reaction from the crowd. You speak to people afterwards. They’re the greatest live band in country music. They added a new member and had a remarkable thing happen during their set. It felt newsworthy.
September 6, 2025 @ 8:13 am
I’m not sure the greatest live band in country musics playing the Denton county fair at midnight. I like them. Have several albums, been to several shows and my kids got a moonpies onesie. I’m not a hater. But, It’s hard not to feel something really strange is going on with this band.
September 7, 2025 @ 8:04 pm
They are the greatest live country band out there! The fact that they are not getting top billing does not mean that it ain’t so! Zach Bryan is getting top billing and he sucks!!
September 8, 2025 @ 10:36 am
I think “greatest live country band” is starting to sound like hyperbole. “A really good live band” or “a lot of fun live”? Absolutely, but at this point they’re settling into “niche cult favorite” status. I’ve never seen ’em anywhere bigger than a small club with a couple hundred people at most. Also, Adam is a fine substitute on steel but Zach is sorely missed. No offence to anybody but Zach was on another level by comparison.
September 6, 2025 @ 9:15 am
Also for the record, the last time I wrote about Silverada was in April, so basically six months ago.
September 7, 2025 @ 9:54 am
Agreed. They had by far the biggest reaction amongst us at the front for the whole festival outside of Turnpike.
September 7, 2025 @ 11:01 am
best live band in country music is easy for me to say. I think they’re one of the best live rock bands in the world. There’s nothing like them.
September 8, 2025 @ 10:39 am
One of the best live rock bands in the world? That’s high praise. I’m guessing you don’t catch a lot of live rock shows?
September 6, 2025 @ 4:39 am
Omar! Always the life of the party.
See these guys if you ever have the chance.
September 6, 2025 @ 6:38 am
Instead of the last eight articles about men’s stories, I would have been more interested in a review of “Wildflower,” Zandi Holup’s fantastic debut album, which was released in August.
But I can’t have everything, and I probably just have a different understanding of the “giving more attention and visibility to women in country music” that’s occasionally invoked here on SCM.
September 6, 2025 @ 7:05 am
Yes, and the 9th was a review of the new Margo Price album, which I said might be one of the best all year. The 11th was a feature on Chapel Hart. You also glossed over the coverage from Sierra Hull and Sister Sadie from Earl Scruggs Fest. I don’t control the news cycle. I just react to it. I think anyone would have a hard time justifying the opinion women are being ignored here.
Also Akade, you have an affinity for young, cussy, major label-signed kind of throwback country women. I still might review the Zandi Holup album. But if you already know about it and love it, what do you want from me?
September 7, 2025 @ 5:44 am
The fact that you call these young women “cussy” is a very questionable statement. I find this word extremely pejorative towards women in general.
I don’t know what gives a man the right to call women like Zandi Holup, Willow Avalon or the Castellows – which you’re obviously referring to because I’ve commented on them here from time to time – that way.
September 7, 2025 @ 6:28 am
Yeah, I clearly wasn’t including The Castellows in that assessment, and not sure why you would try to shoehorn them in. When I say “cussy,” I’m referring to the women who seem to overcuss in their songs for no apparent reason.
September 7, 2025 @ 8:11 am
I mentioned the Castellows because you wrote about “I have an affinity for…” – I have no idea how you came up with that. But so far, they are besides Willow Avalon and Zandi Holup the only young country music women I have commented on here on the forum.
If you want to derive an “affinity” from this, then so be it. However, I also find the word “cussy” inappropriate for the other women mentioned.
…By the way, my greatest affinity in country music is the young woman Charles Wesley Godwin…😘
September 7, 2025 @ 11:33 am
Hey Akade,
Honestly not trying to start friction here. The reason I easn’t referring to The Castellows is because they don’t overcuss in their music. And of the record, I used that “cussy” term very recently for the Tyler Childers record that also seems to cuss exceedingly for no reason. So no, this is not about singling out women. It’s also not to complain about some cussing. It just needs to be employed smartly.
Like I said, I haven’t given up on reviewing either the Willow Avalon album or Zandi Holup. But neither of them felt essential to feature, and will come with some push back from the Saving Country Music faithful.

Any SCM fanbase support on lesser known parking, etc for festival?
September 6, 2025 @ 9:33 am
Hey kentucky,
Gorgeous day/weekend to roam around Madison.
Highs could have easily been in the 90’s, with nasty humidity.
Downtown Madison is generally a catch as catch can parking affair.
Down on the river, as head West toward the venues, any parking is going to be tight.
But, good grief, what a beautiful weekend.
Good luck if you go, hope you have a great time.
September 6, 2025 @ 6:41 am
Congrats to the newly bethrothed couple. (“Bethrothed?” Ol’ boy’s REALLY betraying his age!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
September 6, 2025 @ 8:01 am
The proposal was a fun, spontaneous and genuine moment. Beyond that, I have to agree, it was like somebody slammed down the gas pedal when these guys took the stage. Not knocking the earlier performances/artists at all, they were fantastic. Seeing Leah Blevins for the first time made a fan out of me. But things definitely went from chill, respectful, really good music to an all-out party during Silverada’s set. And Parker is a beast on the keys.
September 6, 2025 @ 8:07 am
People who comment here can be so weirdly unpleasant and antagonistic sometimes. Really enjoyed the article and the video
September 6, 2025 @ 12:37 pm
Wasn’t able to catch Silverada when they were at Luckenbach a while back…maybe next time. But, what I really came here to say…the typo in the story that refers to “Mike and the Moopies,” while not exactly a classical Freudian slip — perhaps more of a malapropism — still made me laugh.
September 6, 2025 @ 6:53 pm
Trigger, what do you think of their new album that just dropped on streaming without fanfare ?
September 6, 2025 @ 9:35 pm
“Texas 42” is an album that they are slowly releasing songs from throughout the year. So even though it looks “new,” it’s really just a new song they keep adding. I plan to feature it once they release the whole thing. I’ve included a couple of the tracks in the Top 25 Playlist as well.
September 7, 2025 @ 6:09 am
I thought the 12 songs available with my Apple subscription were the whole thing. So, there’s more coming ? Thanks!
September 7, 2025 @ 12:14 am
Wow, Harmeier was really ripping on that guitar 🎸.
Great coverage/pics, btw.
September 7, 2025 @ 5:24 am
Great article, I curious to see who finally fills in for Zach on steel, I think they do need it. I was Listening to Steak Night, and just really love the little flourishes that Zach did are so integral to their sound. I cheer the key board in also great to have back, maybe the combo of steel and keys also helps to define their sound!
September 8, 2025 @ 6:28 am
Trigger, you obviously have some affinity for them and so maybe you have some “pull?” Like maybe getting them into the SE sometime? Preferably our new place in Tuscaloosa (Two Dimes) or at least Birmingham?
I saw Oasis this summer in Manchester and *that* was the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen. Would love to compare that to the best band in country music! 🙂
September 8, 2025 @ 6:57 am
Well I’m not sure I can influence their tour routing, but maybe I’ll put the word in.
