Cross Canadian Ragweed Adds New Show, Hints More Could Come

The sold out Boys From Oklahoma reunion shows in early April will not be your only opportunity to see the reunited legendary Red Dirt band. Cross Canadian Ragweed has just announced another stadium date in Waco, TX at Baylor University’s McLane Stadium for August 23rd, and more might be on the way.

When Cross Canadian Ragweed first announced their reunification in October of 2024 for a show on April 12th in Stillwater, OK, demand was so high, it ended up becoming four shows from April 10th to 14th, with over 183,000 total tickets sold. This spoke to the insane demand to see the reunified band live. The shows also will feature the Turnpike Troubadours, Jason Boland and the Stragglers, Stoney LaRue, and The Great Divide.

But the next question was if Cross Canadian Ragweed would actually go out on a legitimate tour. After all, Cody Canada’s current band Cody Canada and the Departed continue to book shows out into the future.

Now we know they’ll at least play one additional show, with the Waco date also featuring the Turnpike Troubadours, Shane Smith and the Saints, Waco hometown hero Wade Bowen, as well as American Aquarium. According to reports, if the reception for the Waco date goes well, more dates might be added, either in Waco or elsewhere.

Texas has been a giant when it comes to support for our music, and Waco is in central Texas so it’s right in the middle of our base,” says Cody Canada. “My favorite part about this show is that we have a lot of friends there, and a lot of people we consider family. Wade Bowen is family, and he is from Waco so, he was the very first person I picked. We can’t wait to play for all the friends we’ve made here throughout the years.

Original Cross Canadian Ragweed members Cody Canada (lead guitar/vocals), Randy Ragsdale (drums), and Grady Cross (guitar), and Jeremy Plato (bass), appeared on stage together for the first time in 15 years at January’s Mile 0 Fest in Key West for five songs, after all members happened to be on the island together, and the festival threw a tribute to the legendary band.

Now it looks like the possibility that Cross Canadian Ragweed could keep going is very real. Pre-order access is now available at theboysfromoklahoma.com, with pre-sales open on February 18, and the public sale of any remaining tickets happening on February 21.
