Damn. This 2025 FairWell Fest Lineup is Lights Out
Tip your hat to the folks who curated the roster for the 2025 FairWell Fest in Redmond, Oregon, because it might be the best independent country lineup we’ve seen so far in 2025. Crowned by Tyler Childers and Sturgill Simpson, and bolstered by Dwight Yoakam, Cody Jinks, and Sierra Ferrell, it’s as stacked of a lineup as you will be able to find. It’s set to go off July 18th and 19th.
The eye-popping talent extends well into the undercard. Not only do you see top level names like Tanya Tucker, Wyatt Flores, Flatland Cavalry, Charles Wesley Godwin, Brent Cobb, and Kaitlin Butts, you also have some of the hottest up-and-comers like Noeline Hoffman and William Beckmann. They even booked Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives, who so many of these big festivals are missing.
Not sure how Ludacris made it onto the lineup. If you want to add a performer of color, there are plenty of actual country artists that could really benefit from being on a lineup like this. Have none of these people ever heard of Aaron Vance? What are we doing here?
Unfortunately, that’s not the only fly in the ointment when it comes to the C3 Presents/Live Nation-produced FairWell Fest. As Saving Country Music reported in 2023, this festival is shading out a lot of other important locally-owned events in the area, including the Jackalope Jamboree in Pendleton, and Big Ponderoo in Sisters, Oregon.
But where the 2024 FairWell Fest took a decidedly Americana turn from their inaugural year in 2023—and their sister event Railbird Fest in Kentucky spit the bit with the headliners (Jelly Roll and Bailey Zimmerman?)—this one got the mix just about perfect. Hell, this might be the place we finally see Sturgill Simpson and Tyler Childers take the stage together once again.

Put Charles Wesley Godwin on the first day lineup and it’s damn near perfect.
How in the hell does Ludacris come to mind to insert in there randomly? Has he ever even done the country rap thing? That said, I’d rather see him than Sturgill Simpson’s overrated arrogant ass. Total douche nozzle.

This is on the same weekend, in the same part of the country, as Under the Big Sky, which also has a pretty stacked lineup. Actually, there’s some overlap going on here, with Tyler Childers, Shane Smith, Brent Cobb, and maybe others playing both festivals.
Rough on the festivals to be competing for attendees, but it also might have helped make artists willing to make the trip out Northwest.
