George Strait, Jamey Johnson Plan Benefit for Texas Flood Relief

George Strait is stepping up big to help his fellow Texans affected by the severe flooding over the 4th of July weekend in Central Texas. Strait’s sphere of influence is definitely felt strongly throughout the region, and he’s answering the call with numerous other artists helping as well.
On Sunday, July 27th, Strait will perform as part of the “Strait To The Heart” Donor Dinner & Concert in Boerne, TX at Estancia in the Thunder Valley indoor arena. Jamey Johnson, William Beckman, Ray Benson, Wade Bowen, Dean Dillon, Riley Green, Randy Houser, Kyle Park, Hudson Westbrook and members of the Ace in the Hole Band will also participate in the event.
Due to the intimate setting, the event is limited to 1,000 guests. Tickets and tables are available for purchase (price points vary and begin at $1,000). Complimentary tickets will be provided to local area first-responders. Donations will be made to 501c3 Vaqueros del Mar Texas Flood Relief Fund and distributed directly to affected families as well as established Hill Country funds.
If you’re interested in purchasing a table or tickets, email Vaquerosdm@gmail.com.
“The destruction and loss in our community from the recent flood is hard to wrap your head around,” says George Strait. “Our hearts and prayers are with you all. The goal with this event is to raise meaningful, immediate support that can be put directly into the hands of flood victims without delay, while also honoring the first responders that work tirelessly to save lives.”
For a more egalitarian option for those who want to help by sharing their love of music, Robert Earl Keen is currently planning a “Star Studded Lineup” to perform at the Whitewater Amphitheater near New Braunfels, Texas on August 28th. No lineup has been revealed just yet, but will give more of the general population and option to enjoy music and raise money for a good cause as well.
Galleywinter will also be hosting the long-running River Jam at the Lone Star Float House on the banks of the Guadalupe River in New Braunfels on Sunday, July 13th starting at 3:00 PM as a benefit. Admission is free with all donations going to the cause. It will feature acoustic performances from Graycie York, Lucas Jagneaux, JD Graham, Ben Danaher, Coby Rotan, Rio Tripiano, Victoria Camp, Kristen Foreman, Cameron Allbright, Hank Weaver, Ashton Naylor, Tristan Graves, Julia Hatfield, Mason Lively closing out the evening, and surprise guests.

Trigger, thank you so very much for the fundraising updates.

I assumed tickets for this benefit would start at $10,000!
Get all that oil money.

My guess is most or all of these tickets will go north of $1,000. You will have high rollers dropping large sums of cash to see Strait and everyone else in an intimate setting. The “$1,000” price point is simply to keep the Looky Lous at bay.
Also, it is my guess that George Strait is probably contractually obligated to NOT perform at an event with more than 1,000 people due his tour situation and deals. So this is probably the work around they put in place to attempt to raise the maximum amount of money possible.

First off, God bless the victims of the flooding. It is horrible and from the videos I have seen, it happened very quickly. The water was swift and rose in almost no time.
However, I don’t care what anyone thinks here, I am tired of celebrities asking the little guy for money for these fundraisers. Together they all have more money than God and with Strait being worth $300 million or more and Jamey being worth close to $10 million, they should just get all of their “star” friends together to fix the problem.
But I guess one does not get, nor stay, rich by spending their own money.
I get the sentiment, but let’s be realistic for a change. These people can give more money than they can convince poor people to donate.

My guess is Strait will drop a load of cash on Central Texas, if he hasn’t already. This is his home turf. But unlike some artists, he might not do a press release about it. I love Dolly, but she’s doesn’t give a dime without stuffing the press inboxes about it. Meanwhile you have folks like Chris Stapleton and Tyler Childers out there being photographed by regular Joes in muck boots during disasters, and it’s only revealed when the press reports on it second hand.

Trigger,
You are 100% correct!!!
July 13, 2025 @ 11:05 am
Because Dolly has been a brand and a franchise since the Eighties.
She is Taylor Swift with implants.

Well, you should be happy. They’re not asking the little guy to pay. This is a fundraiser only for rich people. They’re shutting the little guy out. If you would’ve paid $700 to attend the fundraising concert, thanks, but keep your money/

Agreed.
The NFL is egregious in that department. I remembered one time when the announcers gushed about Kraft giving $25,000 in relief, encouraging the common fan to donate.
Chicken-feed money for him.
July 14, 2025 @ 10:28 am
Well I’ve never been able see him in concert 2 expensive tht when moved here be less boy was I wrong!! I’d think by his smile he would do a free concert! Look @ all the restaurants who have picked a day & gave their earnings 2 help the flood victims 😊

Tickets sold out immediately. It’s going to be somewhat of a somber occasion. Not a typical concert…. King George WILL bring in the $$$$!! God love him.

How do we get funds if we lost everything?
