Josh Weathers Raises Over $337,000 In Livestream for Texas Floods

Texas country artist Josh Weathers was scheduled to play Gruene Hall down in central Texas on July 5th. But like so many gigs throughout the area, the show was cancelled due to the devastating floods in the area that have now taken at least 104 lives, including 84 in Kerr County alone, with many others still missing.

In a short 48 hours, Weathers was able to assemble a host of big auction items, got The Heights Church in Cleburne, TX to open up their stage and multimedia setup to offer excellent visuals and sound, and pulled together a live stream donation drive simulcast on Facebook and other formats Monday night (7-7) from 7:00 pm until about 11:00 pm.

Joined by his band of Bubba Bellin on steel guitar, Paul Jenkins on bass, and Blaine Crews on drums, they ran through Josh Weathers originals as well as country music classics and other popular songs, raising an incredible $337,353 via auction items and direct donations as well. 100% of the proceeds are going to people affected by the floods. The outpouring of support speaks to how much people are wanting to help those in Central Texas and the Hill Country.

As the live stream was happening, friends of Josh Weathers continued to text him, offering up new things to pony up. Artists Red Shahan and Seth James piped in on the fly, offering to play a private concert to the highest bidder. Josh Weathers pledged to perform at the house concert too. And then Big Rich chimed in from Beaumont, and offered up jumbo shrimp and gumbo for up to 100 for the private show as well. A man named Justin Bradley had the winning bid at $36,000.

Then a second individual offered a matching bid, doubling the amount. The same thing happened for a 7-day stay in Belize in a luxury 5-bedroom house with a private chef for $10,500. Two autographed guitars signed by Post Malone, Jelly Roll, Koe Wetzel, Mark Collie, Lainey Wilson, and members of the cast of Landman for $6,200, for a total of $12,400.

There were also passes to the Caveman Festival in Colorado, a stay at Hotel Turkey in Turkey, Texas, custom made hats, and other items auctioned off, including a duck hunt with the steel guitarist Bubba Bellin for $2,400.

Meanwhile, Josh Weathers and the band graced the audience with songs like Josh’s recent single “From One Fool To Another,” George Strait’s, “You Look So Good in Love,” Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams,” and Weathers’ viral version of “I Will Always Love You.”

Other auction items include two tickets to a Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Commanders game, a professional zero-turn mower (sold for $9,000), a guest spot at a Jarrod Morris podcast taping, and an Argentinean dove hunt for $13,000.

And none of this includes silent auction items that are still helping to raise money. If you would like to donate directly, CLICK HERE.

Josh Weathers knows something about donating and charity. His own charity “Love Like You Mean It International” helped build a school in Southern India. He and his wife have also adopted six children.

“I was just going to do it on my cell phone at my house. Then we made some phone calls,” Weathers said. “My goal was $150,000, so I was thinking too small.”

UPDATE (7-9): After the silent auction and subsequent donations, a total of $437,267 was raised, and counting.
