Among the Academy Awards nominees announced Tuesday morning (1-22), David Rawlings and Gillian Welch have been nominated for Best Original Song for their composition “When a Cowboy Trades His Spurs For Wings,” from “The Ballad of Buster Scruggs.”

Jacob Stockdale, formerly of the Stockdale Family Bluegrass Band, entered a plea of insanity in the killing of his mother and brother in a Stark County, Ohio courtroom Thursday morning (1-17) after being formerly charged with murder in the case in late September, 2018, and turning himself into authorities.
