This New Ringo Starr Song Is More Country Than 95% of the Crap on the Radio

ringo-starr-so-wrong-for-so-long

Though you can’t mistake Ringo’s Liverpool accent, the steel guitar is laid on thick, and the answer portion of the chorus is indicative of Countrypolitan. If you ever wanted to hear one of The Beatles do a straight ahead country song, this would be it.

mile-o-fest

You’ve never heard of the Mile 0 Festival in Key West, Florida before, but you have now. And it will be hard to forget about it once you feast your eyes on the pretty ridiculous lineup they’ve assembled for their inaugural run. It’s scheduled for February 7th – 11th 2018 at the new Truman Waterfront Park Amphitheatre in Key West.

Plain-Dark-Gray-Background

Normally the release of a Greatest Hits album would not be a reason for consternation, but Curb Records has a long history of re-releasing songs under different titles for various purposes that only serve the label’s best interests instead of the public or the artists.

There Are No “B-Level” Stages, Thomas Rhett. Only “B-Level” Stars

thomas-rhett-holes

This is the music tour equivalent to spending $1,200 on a pair professionally fashion-curated pre-ripped jeans, or you know, some shirt with holes in it. It’s bid for authenticity from the most inauthentic and manufactured second-generation preordained “country” star our generation has seen.

Moving the Ameripolitan Awards to Memphis is a Good Idea. Here are Some More:

ameripolitan-music-awards

There is no doubt that moving to Memphis was the right call for the organization. For Ameripolitan to grow and prosper, and to make sure it doesn’t get stuck in a rut and become simply a local Austin event, a change of scenery was called for after holding the event at Austin’s Paramount Theatre for the last three years.

Platinum Status for Miranda Lambert’s “Vice” Underscores Problem for Women on Radio

miranda-lambert-platinum

The fact that “Vice” has now gone platinum is not entirely surprising as a lead single from a mainstream country star, but what is surprising is the song never cracked the Top 10 on country radio during its ascent. “Vice” stalled out at #11 before being moved to recurrent.

tyler-childers

Kentucky songwriter and performer Tyler Childers has just released what might as well be considered his debut album ‘Purgatory’ via Thirty Tigers, and for an independent artist with virtually no radio play and no national television exposure, ‘Purgatory’ has sold through surprisingly well.

Album Review – Alex Williams “Better Than Myself”

alex-williams

There is no need to mince words here or parse expectations. Alex Williams debut record Better Than Myself is traditional country music. And if it needs any qualifiers, it would be that it leans more toward the Outlaw style. There’s no compromise, no songs getting intro’d with a drum machine beat. It is true country music in every sense.

scam-accounts

It’s bad enough there are so many pop stars out there pretending to be country artists these days. But lately there has been a big rash of impersonator accounts targeting some of your favorite country artists, including ones reaching out to fans with private messages to solicit individuals for money, credit card numbers, etc.
