Willie Nelson’s Luck Reunion Announces Packed 2025 Lineup

It’s one of the most frenetic and talent-rich events all year, resulting in one of the most sought-after tickets in music. It’s Willie Nelson’s Luck Reunion, and it happens on the Thursday of Austin’s greater SXSW gathering each year. The 13th Annual Luck Reunion will happen on March 13th, and as always, the amount of talent packed into Willie’s little Western town in the Texas Hill Country is incredible.
Top line names set to perform include Charley Crockett, Shane Smith and the Saints, the surging Jesse Welles (please don’t put him in the Chapel), Taj Mahal, Willi Carlisle, and the Wonder Women of Country. There will also be a tribute to Kris Kristofferson, a Steve Earle Writer’s Round, as well as showcases sponsored by Western AF, Visit Fort Worth, BMI, and special guests who rarely disappoint.
The Luck Reunion is basically three days worth of festival talent all crammed into one, with 6+ stages going on simultaneously, including big outdoor stages, and more intimate spaces inside of Willie Nelson’s Opry House, and the Chapel, where only 40-something people can squeeze in at a time. Did I mention they shouldn’t put Jesse Welles in The Chapel, because he’s surging at the moment, and lots of folks should have an opportunity to see him?
Getting tickets to Luck is very difficult. But if you happen to be in Austin for SXSW, you can press your luck by visiting luckpresents.com to find out how.

A special guest is listed right below Aly & AJ, so it’s gotta be Lainey Lewis’ ex, Barry Goldberg, stage name Big Tasty.

Seeing rumors it’s Arcade Fire, but haven’t confirmed. They do this every year, and it’s usually a big name. It’s been Jason Isbell and Tyler Childers in the past.

I just saw Rosanne Cash with John Leventhal and 92nd Street Y last night and surprise special guest performer was Elvis Costello.

Very cool Poster

It’s a shame it’s such a poorly run event, never again for me!
Nowhere to sit, no shade, huge food and bathroom lines, long waits for shuttle to parking lot.

Most Willie concert events are a feat of survival and not for the faint of heart. People died at the first 4th of July picnic in Dripping Springs, TX! My first 4th of July picnic in Austin the heat index was 115 and there was no shade. The first Outlaw Festival in Scranton they ran out of parking (parked along side the road) and beer. Surviving a Willie event is half the fun.

I recommend catching Willi Carlisle.
He did support for Tyler Childers here in Sydney, Australia, was so good that I saw him again in a side show.
Personally I think his show in a 100ish person room was way better than Childers in a souless crowded arena.
Childers was ok. But the crowd sucked. In the words of John Denver “please limit your singing to the choruses”

Seen Willi live now a number of times, including last month. He comes highly recommended for sure. I’m a little surprised he hasn’t gotten bigger than he has.

Surpised Emily Nenni is being buried in a writers round here. She had one of the best albums of last year that was critically aclaimed and on a lot of year end lists. It would be nice to see her showcased a bit more at an event like this.

Does anyone know what time the different bands start?

They always keep the schedule private until the day of. Very annoying, but I guess it’s to entice folks to show up early.
