49 Winchester Adds to Anticipated 2023 Tour

Do you get a tingling sensation in your gut every time you see the name 49 Winchester, or hear one of their songs come through on a playlist? No, that’s not just gas, that’s the sensation you feel as a fan when you just know one of your favorite artists is about to explode.
Few artists or bands in independent country are getting the same opportunities as 49 Winchester at the moment. Not only is reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year Luke Combs walking around in one of their T-shirts, he’s booked them to open a bunch of his shows in Europe later this year. They’re also opening shows for the massive Whiskey Myers and the joint Dwight Yoakam/Mavericks tour.
On top of all that, they’ve earned slots on arguably the four most important festivals in independent country all year: Montana’s Under the Big Sky, Oklahoma’s Born & Raised, Kentucky’s Railbird Festival, and the new Fair Well Fest in Oregon, not to mention Stagecoach, Laurel Cove, and a host of other cool festivals.
But between all of these big gigs, 49 Winchester is also playing their own headliner shows too, and this is your opportunity to see these guys up close and personal. You better take full advantage of these opportunities, because just like so many of your other favorite independent artists, they won’t be playing intimate venues for long.
49 Winchester has just announced a slew of new tour dates to go along with any already packed tour schedule for 2023. You can find the new dates in bold below. Some, if not most will sell out, so don’t dottle. 49 is blowing up nationwide, and their song “Russell Country Line” won the 2023 Saving Country Music Single of the Year. So celebrate the success of the band in cool places while you still can.

They’re a Virginia band, yet they haven’t played in DC in nearly 2 years. I don’t understand it. They’ll go anywhere out West, but won’t go to the major city that shares a border with their state?
April 2, 2023 @ 7:08 am
I’d rather go out west than to DC too. Can’t blame them 🙂
April 2, 2023 @ 8:26 am
Where did they play in DC? I’m going to guess Hill Country BBQ.
They’re from around Bristol, as I recall. I visited the the Birthplace of Country Music museum (highly, highly recommended) this past summer and saw that the gift shop had a few CDs of theirs for sale. Bristol seems about equidistant from DC and Pittsburgh (close to 400 miles) and I see they are playing at a 380 capacity venue in Pittsburgh.
I’ve lived in the DC area for 30+ years and have found it to be a roots music friendly area, but maybe more roots rock/Americana than independent country? I do see that Flatland Cavalry/Cole Chaney are on the Birchmere schedule this month, though.

A little bird told me that Drayton Farley is opening the new dates in the Midwest, which makes it even more of a cant miss show.

I’m from MN and I get emails frequently from First Ave, who runs most of the small music venues around here – yesterday I got an email from them with a presale code for tickets to see 49 Winchester at Fine Line. I didn’t even think twice before buying two tickets, and that was before I even asked anyone if they wanted to go with me! Can’t wait to see these guys in concert.
March 31, 2023 @ 12:18 pm
I just got tickets for MN too. I wasn’t sure if they were ever going got make it this way.
March 31, 2023 @ 12:24 pm
FFS, we need these bands to coordinate a little. 49W at Denver’s Bluebird on 5/4…same night Jason Isbell is at Red Rocks, and American Aquarium is somewhere else in Denver. Ad much as I’d live to, can’t go to them all…
March 31, 2023 @ 1:14 pm
In Pgh we have the same problem with Arlo McKinley playing the same night. I was pretty bummed when I saw the dates.
April 1, 2023 @ 6:03 am
Club Cafe this week … Chris Knight (Wednesday), Arlo McKinley (Friday), and BJ Barham (Saturday).
2nd time in 8 months Chris Knight is playing Club Cafe.
April 1, 2023 @ 6:39 am
Joshua Hedley and Jason Eady & Jamie Lin Wilson, 6/13 and 6/17 respectively also. All these shows so close together are tough to pull off but at worst I am happy to see a lot selling out and hitting town at all.
March 31, 2023 @ 12:57 pm
Why doesnt anyone play Detroit anymore? A couple of acts come this way, Ward Davis is one. For the most part though, Michigan gets nothing. There are a ton of country fans out this way, makes no sense.
March 31, 2023 @ 1:18 pm
Saw them last year at the Firewater Festival, they put on a great show. I’ve got tickets to see them in Hays Kansas in May. Could have went to the Kansas City show which is 3 hours closer, but the song Hays Kansas is one of my favorites by them.
March 31, 2023 @ 3:30 pm
Hard to believe Fortune Favors The Bold isn’t even a year old. Feels like gospel by now.
March 31, 2023 @ 3:34 pm
Lotsa shows but none anywhere near here in New Orleans.
April 1, 2023 @ 5:53 am
Finally! a show in central Massachusetts but with Nelly, Dustin Lynch, Uncle Cracker, and a bunch of other acts I have no interest whatsoever in seeing. Ugh.
April 1, 2023 @ 12:00 pm
I’m considering going to the festival just for them, but what the fuck is that lineup
April 1, 2023 @ 1:17 pm
Seriously! Barf.
I haven’t seen a decent show in Worcester since Jesse Dayton… like 5 years ago at whatever they were calling the old Sir Morgan’s Cove at that time.. Oh, and when me and about 10 people saw the Legendary Shack Shackers at a Clark University basement (around when Agridustrial came out – 2010? ).
April 3, 2023 @ 9:00 am
The OKC date is sold out too as of last week.
