Robert Earl Keen Assembles MASSIVE Flood Benefit Concert

The music community is stepping up big time to make sure the folks affected by the flooding in central Texas and the Hill Country are made whole, and those who lost loved ones are enveloped by the rest of community in all the love that can be mustered.
There have already been countless fundraisers and impromptu concerts set up to help the cause. Pat Green who lost family members in the flood is conducting a livestream event Wednesday (7-16) evening. Josh Weathers raised over $400,000 in a livestream event of his own. Kat Hasty and Rich O’Toole raised a reported $75,000 for the heavily affected community of San Angelo. Galleywinter turned their annual River Jam into a fundraiser that also raised funds for the cause.
George Strait has his own fundraiser planned as well, and there are so many more that it’s hard to enumerate them all. But Robert Earl Keen has pulled together the biggest lineup yet for an event on August 28th at the Whitewater Ampitheater in New Braunfels called “Applause for the Cause.”
Along with Robert Earl Keen himself, close friend Tyler Childers has pledged to perform, Miranda Lambert, Jack Ingram, and Jon Randall will reprise their Marfa Tapes songs together, and the newly reformed Cross Canadian Ragweed are making a rare appearance too.
Along with all of these names, others who’ve pledged to appear include Cody Jinks, Hayes Carll, Aaron Watson, Jamey Johnson, Cleto Cordero, Catie Offerman, Jamestown Revival, Jason Boland, Josh Abbott, Kazimi, Kelsey Waldon, Kolton Moore, Pug Johnson, Radney Foster, Randy Rogers, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Ryan Bingham, Sarah Jarosz, Terry Allen, Vincent Neil Emerson, William Clark Green, Josh Weathers, Kyle Park, Rob Baird, and The Texas Trio.
Expect these artists to perform solo or with a house band. But nonetheless, the talent level is pretty incredible. This event will be like a gathering of the tribes of Texas music. Doors will open at 3:00 PM, with Lloyd Maines and his Austin City Limits band backing up various guest vocalists. Robert Earl Keen and Tyler Childers will cap the night off.
“This is a star-studded lineup with music starting in the mid-afternoon and lasting far into the night,” says Robert Earl Keen. “We must help everyone as much as we can, for as long as we can.”
Tickets go on sale on Friday, July 18th at 12:00 Central at whitewaterrocks.com.

Are all these artists performing live in person or via video?
July 17, 2025 @ 6:53 am
I believe all of these artist will be live, in the flesh, at the Whitewater Amphitheater. Many of them will probably perform in front of a house band as opposed to their own band since there are so many names, but I expect Cross Canadian Ragweed, Robert Earl Keen, etc. to perform with their full live setup.
I understand how some might draw this conclusion after Pat Green’s fundraiser last night that brought back the idea of the pandemic “livestream” fundraiser where folks submit videos on their phones, and some people are live in a room. No offense to Pat Green at all. That’s the way he chose to approach his fundraiser. This will not be that. Hopefully there is a livestream of Whitewater though, too.

Thank you! It was Pat Green’s fundraiser that made me wonder. 😊 While I appreciate what Pat did, especially during such a difficult time for him & everyone in Texas, his livestream didn’t have much energy. I watched it later and found myself fast-forwarding during several parts.

Just a heads up you have the 29th instead of the 28th in your article

They should consider selling tickets to a livestream of this event. I don’t live anywhere near it, but this lineup is incredible and I’d love to support it! Do you think a livestream is likely?
July 17, 2025 @ 7:41 am
I’m sure they’re at least looking into this. If a livestream comes about, I’ll try to notify folks.

It looks like they are livestreaming through veeps.com according to the info they have released.

Gonna post about Parker/Mirandas Band Together Texas? Parker, Mirance, CoJo, Ronnie Dunne, Lyle Lovett, RRB, Wade bowen, Jack Ingram, Jon Randall, Ryan Bingham, Lukas Nelson, Dylan Gossett

I’m sure I will at some point.

Incredible list of performers!!

Great lineup, for a great cause, but I would honestly rather hear Miranda, Jack and Jon just acoustic song swap, I feel all three of them have better material than just what was on the Marfa tapes.

Apparently tickets were entirely sold out in 10 minutes. Went on sale at noon central today and they’re all gone. Have to wonder if an actual person bought any of it.
July 19, 2025 @ 6:11 pm
Yep, we got tickets.

Fantastic. I knew Texas would pull together on this tragedy (and I realize not all these artists are Texans). I find it especially pleasing that Robert Earl Keen is the organizer — I’m a very big fan of his music.

I’m a dummy and forgot to try to get tickets the moment they went on sale. They sold out, predictably.
They could likely drum up an enormous amount of funds with a paid livestream. It’s such a no brainer on the benefit side, that I hope it happens. A livestream would be a great, natural opportunity to ask for additional online donations as well.
