Ballhooter Festival Offers Beefy New Lineup for 2026

Out in the mountains of West Virginia sits Cheat Mountain and the Snowshoe Ski Resort. This picturesque setting in the heart of Appalachia will be the site for the 2026 Ballhooter Festival set to happen on Labor Day Weekend in 2026, September 4th, 5th, and 6th with the Turnpike Troubadours, 49 Winchester, and Morgan Wade headlining.
Other artists scheduled to perform include Sam Bush, The Record Company, American Aquarium, Lindsey Lou, Crowe Boys, Jon Stickley Trio, Larry Keel Experience, Colby T. Helms and The Virginia Creepers, Mama Said String Band, Big Daddy Love, The Gasoline Gypsies, and Corduroy Brown.
The name “Ballhooter Festival” is not entirely new. The Snowshoe Mountain Ski Resort held a festival of this same name at the end of the ski season for multiple years in early-mid March for over a decade. Though roots music was always a part of it, they would also include some jam band and jamgrass stuff. With this new summer installment, they say “Call it a hootenanny.”
“We’re keeping the same name, the same energy, and the same mountaintop magic—but now it all comes to life against a brand-new backdrop: Summer at the Shoe,” the organizers say.
Along with the music are many activities at the ski resort. “This isn’t a parking lot festival. There’s nowhere you need to be too fast. Enjoy the mountain trails, lake days, lift rides, and space to breathe. Snowshoe features a Bike Park with one of the largest trail systems in the East, an award winning golf course, and a Village that never feels rushed.”

Great to see Morgan in big font. This is only one of two shows for 2026 on her website. Phenomenal headliners across the board.
