Braun Brothers Reunion Unveils Beefy Lineup for 2025

It’s a festival. It’s a homecoming. It’s a family reunion. It’s the Braun Brothers Reunion, and it’s one of the longest-running traditions in Texas music held in Idaho each summer. Reckless Kelly and their brother band Micky and the Motorcars might be synonymous with Austin. But they all originated in Idaho, and each summer they return home and drag some of the most badass bands in the Texas scene with them.
2025 will be no different as Silverada, Ellis Bullard, The Wilder Blue, Mike McClure, Shinyribs, Sunny Sweeney, Dale Watson, Cody Canada and the Departed, and Django Walker have all signed up to be part of the festivities. But wait, there’s more. American Aquarium will be blowing in from North Carolina, Taylor Hunnicutt will be making the trek from Alabama, and Corb Lund will be flying south from Canada.
Set to transpire in 2025 in Challis, ID August 7th-9th, it’s sure to be a hell of a time with Brothers Willy, Cody, Micky, and Gary all performing together with papa Muzzie, along with Reckless Kelly auxiliary member Jeff Crosby who is also on the lineup.
“We carefully select each artist to create a lineup that feels like a backyard jam session with talented friends. Here, music isn’t just played; it’s felt,” the Braun Brothers say.
Killer artwork too.

Just got a recommendation for the new Micky and the Motorcars single. Is there a sub genre for Red Dirt Glam Rock?

I love this description of the single. Sounds like Jerry Jeff through a T Rex filter.

There are no weak spots in this lineup. Saw Shelby Stone at Hangover Ball and she is a star on the rise. Django backing her is going to be fun.

If you can go to this, GO. I went in 2021 and 2023 and it’s an EXCELLENT time. Every act is worth seeing. Wish I could make it this year, but hopefully, I can do it in 2026.
In 2023, they even had an autograph tent and I got to meet a LOT of the artists, including Reckless Kelly, Mickey and Gary Braun, The Wilder Blue, Cody Canada, BJ Barham, Django Walker, Jason Eady.
Also, there’s only one stage, so you never have to worry about sacrificing one act for another. It’s a 3-day festival where you can truly experience everything it has to offer.

Currently in the queue for presale tickets (they failed to announce the time they would go on sale). I am number 203 and it says it will take 3 hours to get to the front of the line.
As someone who has been to 16 BBRs, I can honestly say it is a love/hate relationship. So much about it is wonderful, but the organization is a shit show every year. I have been to festivals that in their first year pretty much nail everything. But ugh, 40 something years in and its like the organizers have never attended a music festival.
