Cross Canadian Ragweed Reunion Shows Sell Out, New Shows Added
Many fans of reunited Red Dirt band Cross Canadian Ragweed secured tickets for their reunion shows during the presale on Monday, October 7th. Many others did not. What started out as a reunion show at T Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater, OK for Saturday, April 12th, 2025 had already been expanded to Friday April 11th after some 120,000 signed up for presale tickets. But even that hasn’t put a dent in the demand.
Now shows have been added to Thursday, April 10th, and Sunday April 13th. The presale for these dates starts Tuesday, October 8th at 12:00 pm Central. Fans can sign up for the new presale at boysofoklahoma.com. A general onsale is still planned for Friday, April 11th. But who knows if any tickets will remain.
At 10:00 a.m. Central time Monday, fans feverishly started lining up online for the opportunity to get a seat. Some were able to get tickets rather quickly, others waited hours and finally snagged a couple, still others sat in waiting line hell for hours, only to be turned away. Then notifications went out that all presale tickets were sold out, and people would have to wait for the general onsale on Friday, October 11th. Then another notification came that in fact all available tickets were sold, and none were left for the Friday and Saturday show.
“Y’all broke Pete!!!!” Cross Canadian Ragweed said on social media. “We’re blown away by the response for The Boys From Oklahoma. Both Friday and Saturday’s shows are now SOLD OUT. The demand has been so overwhelming that we’re working to add shows on Thursday and Sunday to try to get as many people as possible in for the April 2025 weekend event.”
The band is also strongly encouraging people to not purchase tickets from resale sites at this time. Some fans are taking to social media to complain that bots bought up all the tickets and are reselling them at exorbitant prices. Whenever you have demand outpace supply, this scenario transpires. Though bots and scalpers probably are a part of the buying and selling environment, plenty of average fans secured tickets on Monday through the presale as well.
Also scheduled to perform at the shows are the Turnpike Troubadours, as well as original Red Dirt legends The Great Divide, Jason Boland and the Stragglers, and Stoney LaRue. The Mike McClure Band has also been added to the Thursday and Friday shows.
The seating capacity of T Boone Pickens Stadium is only 53,885, and that’s before you erect a stage at one end. Stillwater, OK’s entire population is just under 50,000. Hotels and AirBNB’s were already spoken for even before the event was announced, or even leaked to the public as word of mouth spread and folks put reserves on all available inventory.
It’s hard to express how incredible demand for these shows have been, and what the town of Stillwater will transform into come April 2025. Stay tuned to Saving Country Music as more information on these shows becomes available.

I’m happy they are adding new shows, but it kinda sucks they added the Thursday show. I bought tickets for the Friday show because it was going to be the first time they had played together in 12 years. No doubt its still going to be a great show but the energy on the first night is just different than any other night, see Turnpike at Cains.

I have Friday as well. First show energy would’ve been cool, but now all bands can get sound issues corrected (I think first ever concert at BPS) and ragweed will have jitters out of the way. Or at least that’s my attempted positive spin on it.
Still can’t believe the demand. Even if some were bought with intention to resale then.

Realistically, I’m sure they’re going to do a club gig or two to knock the rust off before they get to these shows

Has anyone seen a presale link for the new dates yet? I submitted the form when they announced it to those of us that didn’t make it through the queue but haven’t seen anything on it yet for the next presale.

They might be working on that. The fact that the presale starts at noon as opposed to 10:00 when almost all presales start tells me they probably need some more time to put it all together.

I don’t how the queue worked. We got in when it opened, picked our tickets. Bought a parking pass and checked out in 9 minutes. We were done by 1009
I hope everyone who wants to go gets a chance. As an Oklahoma State alum and football fan I’m glad we might get enough NIL money to find a quarterback

Happy for everyone that was able to get tickets. Unfortunately my little walking guy never made it past a third of the way to the end of his journey after almost 3 hours when the sold out message came up. I may try again tomorrow but lodging expenses look to be a showstopper. I booked a hotel for Fri/Sat at $160 per night as soon as Trigger posted the news about the show. Just looked and to move one day forward or back at the same hotel is now almost $500 a night.
Folks on social media said they were only able to purchase 2 tix max when they did get in. Anyone know if that was the case?

You couldn’t leave a single seat alone so it caused some problems.
As in, if there were three available and you tried to buy two you’d get rejected for leaving a single seat.

However this ends up I suspect this will be the most tickets ever sold for any Red Dirt concert ever. Good for all involved more proof Nashville and big record labels are a thing of the best in being necessary for success.

Logged in, clock hit 10:00:01 and I was queue until 2:30 p.m. when it said sold out. Called buddy at 10:04:34 and said we’re screwed, he said nah – already bought our tickets on StubHub. Paid more for them but that’s better than being left out. If I had a magic wand I would fix how tickets are sold. Them Bots are hard to beat. I miss the old days of camping out in a line by the record store to get my tickets…and now get off my lawn. In the end, see you in Stillwater!!

Yeah I sat in the queue for both rounds of presale and never made it halfway through either day before they sold out. Not sure I want to encourage scalpers but its crazy they just sold 200,000 tickets and I couldnt snag 2 of them.

Here’s some context for what’s happened to independent countries in the last two decades. Many OSU people are here, so you all correct me if I get anything wrong.
In the early aughts, we didn’t have Boone Pickens Stadium; we had the rusty Lewis Field. The OSU SGA or some other group did a big concert that may have been homecoming weekend called “Orange Peel” in those years. Orange Peel would only sell about 1/2 the seats to Lewis Field back then. Cross Canadian, The Great Divide, and Jason Boland were at or near the top of popularity in the Texas/Reddirt scene.
None of them ever got invited to Orange Peel, which did try to attract the widest section of students and alumni possible with a diverse talent pool. There was no way it would be all country music, but they usually had one country performer on the lineup. One year, they had Faith Hill—Faith Hill but no Ragweed. She might have been the opposite of some group like Third Eye Blind.
Times have changed for the better.

This could be an excellent resurrection of Orange Peel. Get Rodney Carrington to open, a tornado followed by an earthquake and a heat alert, perfect Okie April. As an old X’er, seems legit.
