Disgraced Texas DJ Justin Frazell Violates Probation, Could Face Prison

Disgraced former Texas music DJ Justin Frazell is in legal hot water once again after violating the terms of his probation, which could mean he could face time in prison.
Justin Frazell was an award-winning radio host of 95.9 The Ranch out of Fort Worth. He started with the company in 2000, and hosted the radio station’s popular weekday morning show beginning in 2009.
On New Year’s Eve, 2020, Frazell sexually assaulted a young teen at his home after a party in Mansfield, TX. After conducting multiple interviews with witnesses and collecting the DNA evidence, police filed an arrest warrant for Frazell, who was charged with 2nd-degree felony sexual assault charges on March 24th, and later was released on bond.
Then on April 26th, 2021, Frazell was arrested for a second incident on one count of indecent assault stemming from a December 22nd, 2020 incident in Denton County, TX.
For the Denton County incident, Frazell was sentenced to 18 months of deferred-adjudication probation with 80 hours of community service. For the Tarrant County incident, Frazell plead guilty and was sentenced to seven years of deferred adjudication, and would not face a criminal conviction if he successfully met the terms of his sentence.
Frazell had to register as a sex offender, was forbidden from owning firearms, or using drugs or alcohol for the duration of the sentence. According to the district attorney, the victim and her family agreed to the terms of the plea deal.
However, according to Tarrant County prosecutors, Frazell has violated the terms of that probation numerous times. A court document from February 3rd claims Frazell failed to successfully complete a court-ordered sex offender treatment program that discharged him in December of 2024. He also provided a diluted urine sample on one occasion, and failed to provide a urine sample on another occasion as part of his required routine drug and alcohol tests.
These violations resulted in prosecutors moving forward to adjudicate Justin Frazell’s original 7-year sentence. He was required to report to the Tarrant County Jail on February 18th. At the time, Saving Country Music was told his booking into the jail was not due to any new charges. However, prosecutors are looking into petitioning the court to require Frazell to serve prison time due to his repeated probation violations.
Frazell spent from February 18th until March 3rd in the Tarrant County Jail before being released on a $50,000 bond. According to a representative at the Tarrant County Prison, the matter is still pending in the Tarrant County Court.
Before The Ranch, Justin Frazell worked at 570 am KLIF in Dallas starting in 1996, and was a traffic reporter for country station 99.5 The Wolf in 1998. Frizzell had been regularly nominated and awarded by Texas radio organizations for his work at The Ranch.

DJ’s really are the worst kind of people.
March 12, 2025 @ 9:46 am
No! I meant to reject your generalization of characterization of DJ’s as the ‘worst kind of people’ because it’s impossible for you to know all DJ’s.

Maybe now they are, unfortunately …. My brother , Robert X Brown , Beaumont… was essential in keeping R&B / Soul alive . He was a good person .
I still read good things about him years after his death .

It’s not allegedly anymore. He was convicted. He did it.

I don’t defend anything that Frazell has done, and if he’s violated his probation, he should incur the consequences. But I can say that ever since Frazell left 95.9 The Ranch, the station basically has become unlistenable. They mainly only play cheesy rock music and refuse to play actual country music anymore. At least Frazelll played country songs when he was there.

I can’t say if I was listening to The Ranch much before Frazell’s demise but it’s the perfect station for my tastes – I like a little rock in my country and Red Dirt which they brand themselves as is more of a scene or community than it is a style of music. I listen for several hours a day and almost always hear a couple George Straight classics or Rodney Crowell or Jerry Jeff Walker and many others. So I do think they play “actual country music” but if that’s what you’re looking for all the time then I agree The Ranch is not that.

I’ll take shitty music (that I don’t have to listen to) over someone doing what he did to those victims 8 days of the week.

I remember this case.
First reaction:
How in the flying fuck was this man probation for raping a child?
Second reaction:
“Right. Texas. Makes sense.”

For the record, what Texas is known for is throwing the book at criminals and having some of the most harsh penalties for crimes in the Western World. So I’m not sure how “Texas” resolved the leniency of the sentence.
My understanding is the sentence was worked out with the victim’s family, perhaps to save the victim the trauma of having to relive the moment in a protracted trial.
All that said, we’re seeing now why the sentence might have not been harsh enough.

Eh, it’s known for a two tier system.
It’s not like he got caught with a gram of weed after being pulled over for driving 44 in a 45 – all he did was sexually assault a child entrusted to his care.

The additional facts are still disturbing. According to a quick Google search the age of consent is 17 in TX. That girl was 17 when the incident happened. It was the friend of his own daughter and he was giving them alcohol all evening. When she was sleeping he took off her clothes and performed oral.
In what universe would that scenario not end badly?
March 14, 2025 @ 1:31 pm
Obviously in the universe where Frazell is The One.
A common misconseption among folks in the world of entertainment business and politics.

Not this piece of trash again. He should have been locked up for a long time for what he did. He got off easy and still messing up. Ive always heard how texas justice would make sure the bad guys paid but not here. I know trigger reported on it before so i understand the followup but this guy doesnt deserve any press.
March 13, 2025 @ 11:28 am
This guy. He’s like the bleeding hemorrhoid of the Fort Worth music scene. Everyone wishes he’d just go away but he keeps popping up again and again. Time to drop a Preparation H nuke on him once and for all.

Hey Trigger none of this matters and I’m only being a detail oriented dipshit cause it’s a personality trait that helps me at work.
“ Then on April 26th, 2020, Frazell was arrested for a second incident on one count of indecent assault stemming from a December 22nd, 2020 incident in Denton County, TX.”
December 2020 is AFTER April 2020 so he couldn’t have been arrested in April for something that hadn’t happened yet.

Well, he did carry an antique Roman coin in his pocket, dated 325 B.C.
March 13, 2025 @ 11:49 pm
Yes, it should have been April 26th, 2021. It has been corrected.

To quote the wrestler “The Rock”, ‘It doesn’t matter!!!’ —-to be proven guilty before being proven innocent is wrong!.
#Not ChatGPS or whatever you called it, Trigger. I am a human being whether you like it or not.
