Fmr. Texas Music DJ Justin Frazell Arrested on 2nd Sex Charge

The Texas music community was left in shock when it was reported that long-time Dallas/Fort Worth award-winning DJ Justin Frazell had been indicted on a 2nd degree sexual assault charge in March from an incident that occurred over New Years involving a teenage girl. Now a second unrelated sex charge has been filed, and Frazell has been arrested once again.
The 47-year-old from Mansfield was booked into the Denton County Jail on Monday, April 26th on one count of indecent assault, which is a misdemeanor. According to Dallas News, he was released a short time later on $2,500 bail. The incident allegedly happened on December 22nd, 2020. On that day, Frazell was in Denton County conducting an interview with country artist Cody Jinks for Frazell’s Texas Red Dirt Roads program, though it’s unclear if the alleged indecent assault happened around that event.
Saving Country Music has reached out to authorities in Denton Country for further information, but no more details are available on the incident at this time.
The initial rape allegation occurred after Justin Frazell hosted a party at his Mansfield home on New Year’s Eve for his family and other friends. The teenage girl was there with her family, but decided to stay the night at the house where Frazell lives with his wife and two children. The alleged victim was a friend of one of Frazell’s daughters. The teens were allowed to drink at the party, and were hanging out together in one of the rooms of the house. The teenage girl then stayed overnight at the house after her parents and other guests had left about 2 a.m.
Then according to the arrest warrant, Justin Frazell entered the bedroom where the teen was sleeping, and gave her a White Claw alcoholic drink. Eventually the teen fell asleep, but woke up with Frazell reportedly pulling her blanket back and performing sex acts on her without her consent. When another child in the house came to a nearby bathroom, Frazell stated he was checking on the teen, and eventually left the bedroom.
The teenage girl then began texting relatives to come get her at about 5 a.m. on New Year’s Day. Frazell went back to the bedroom, but the accuser told him to leave her alone. A relative eventually picked the teen up at the residence, and she told her parents about the incident, who called the police.
Justin Frazell was fired from his job as a radio morning show host at 95.9 The Ranch in Fort Worth on March 29th after the allegations surfaced. Frazell had worked at the radio station since 2009.
Before The Ranch, Justin Frazell worked at 570 am KLIF in Dallas starting in 1996, and worked as a traffic reporter and weekend host for country station 99.5 The Wolf starting in 1998. Frizzell was regularly nominated and awarded by Texas radio organizations for his work at The Ranch, and has hosted and sponsored numerous charitable events at hospitals for premature babies after his two children were born premature.
More information on the new allegation if or when it becomes available.

Well, that’s that. It’s a pattern now.
I know he hasn’t been convicted yet. But I certainly am not hopeful.

Does bare a striking resemblance to Malkovich.
This is all so sad.
Also, people need to speak up soon after an “assault”, such as an indecent exposure.
If you can’t take care of it yourself, get the proper people involved.

It’s awful that so many victims don’t speak up immediately. I understand they may not want the attention on themselves and what happened, or they don’t want the backlash from speaking out against someone in power or a celebrity, or they just don’t think that they’ll be believed, or maybe they even think they’re partially to blame and have to live with the consequences. I’m sure there are several other reasons someone wouldn’t speak up, but in this case, if this woman went to the police right away, what’s the chance of the assault on New Year’s Eve taking place? Probably a lot lower. We just need to do better as a society of respecting victims and taking this stuff seriously.

Agreed.
And we need to be sure to be careful of all parties involved.
Last time had to deal with this, was finishing nuclear degree.
In clinicals, at Mt. Sinai, was invited to Smith & Wolensky, on South Beach, every Friday, for dinner and cocktails, with some of the gang. Since was still a student, and not licensed, smiled sweetly, saying Thanks for the invitation, studying and burning it at both ends 24/7, currently. Would love to join everyone in a couple months, upon graduation.
This guy became more persistent, and he was still very much an arm of the University i was attending.
Ended up, with a meeting in the President’s office. Nuclear coordinator, clinical instructor, Dean, & 2 other students.
Offered to lay a multi million $ lawsuit at the University’s feet.
GAME OVER
Co student at Mt. Sinai, Brian, was waiting in the parking lot Monday morning, when i pulled in.
He smiled, i smiled, and we walked into class together. Was a killer moment.
Brian is what is referred to as a real man. Even though 20 years separated us, he stepped up

I hope you lay off the sauce when you’re practicing nuclear physics. Or nuclear medicine. Or nuclear biology.
Sheesh.

@Travis – even if the first victim did speak up instantly, there still has to be time for an investigation to ensue before any arrests are made. I agree that more people need to speak out when these incidents happen, however the New Years Eve incident wouldn’t have been stopped by the latter accuser. Don’t blame one victim on another victim. The blame needs to go on the sick individual who committed these acts.

You should probably read the article again. The New Year’s Eve victim DID speak up immediately. He just wasn’t arrested for it until March. Another article I read said there was DNA evidence on the girls clothing. So him not being arrested until March would make sense if they sent the evidence to be tested and issued a warrant when the test results came back. He was then arrested AGAIN on April 26 for another charge.

I know the New Year’s Eve victim spoke up right away. Maybe you need to read my comment again. I don’t recall seeing any assaults taking place after the New Years incident, which is exactly my point. Even if he’s not in custody, it’s less likely he’s going to continue that behavior during an ongoing investigation. If the first victim spoke up immediately, I don’t think the New Year’s Eve incident would have happened. Now don’t misconstrue this as me saying it’s the first victim’s fault that the second incident happened. It’s obviously the fault of Justin.

This story about a DJ, as well as the lame stream radio stations, written about got me to thinking about years ago (late 60’s, early 70’s) in Houston and the DJ’s I listened to on KIKK- I recall 2 in particular along with Jacky Ward, who had a pretty good hit, (at least locally), Big Blue Diamonds– the first is Bill Bailey, he did the morning show and went on to become a Constable- then there is this guy, Arch Yancey- DJ’s didn’t make the news like they do now, which is probably a good thang-
Arch Yancey
“Over the course of his career, now-retired disc jockey Arch Yancey accumulated a wealth of stories about some of the nation’s most famous country music stars.”

Jacky Ward left the country music industry in 1985. He has been a minister and teacher of the gospel for over 20 years. He is presently the interim pastor of West Corinth Baptist church in Corinth, Mississippi.
