Jamey Johnson Readies Sirius XM Outlaw Tour w/ Kelsey Waldon, Erin Enderlin
Jamey Johnson will be heading out on a tour staring February 1st sponsored by SiriusXM Outlaw Country, and select dates will feature a couple of worthy openers. The 24 dates are part of a total 38 dates Jamey Johnson has planned for 2019 so far that will take him through the South, Midwest, Texas, and out to the West Coast this year.
Joining Jamey Johnson on tour on select dates will be Kelsey Waldon. Her 2016 effort, I’ve Got A Way was a slyly thematic work that found Waldon asserting her own identity and freedom in a world that constantly is attempting to reshape and sway her towards its own image and desires. Waldon is originally from Monkey’s Eyebrow, Kentucky. Yes, it’s a real place in the western part of the state, near the Ohio River. Kelsey’s family farmed tobacco and raised cattle, and the stories of struggle from of America’s rural heartland still drip from her songs.
Erin Enderlin will also be joining Jamey Johnson for select dates. She is the highly acclaimed songwriter behind songs like “Monday Morning Church” by Alan Jackson, “Last Call” by Lee Ann Womack, and a number of other songs from Randy Travis, Terri Clark, Joey + Rory and Tyler Farr among others. Her 2013 debut album, I Let Her Talk was about emotional reactions to traditional country themes of cheating, love, alcohol, and loss. Her most recent project, a concept album titled Whiskeytown Crier from 2017, was produced by Jamey Johnson.
Another big note from the tour dates is a show Jamey Johnson will play with Cody Jinks at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, AL on February 28. Find all the dates below.

You can add Kelsey Waldon to the Detroit show, We’d have gone to see Jamey regardless, but having Kelsey on the bill makes it all the better.

My dance card is (over) booked for March (gotta announce a little earlier).
I cancelled my SiruisXM …. first time in years without it. I can never tell you what I paid a month, but it’s always different. We’ll see if I miss it in the summer. But, they need a better pricing model. I’d like to pay two years up front and not worry about what I’m being charged for awhile.

I gave Sirius a free trial for as long as they gave me but it’s just not the way I listen to music so I wasn’t going to pay for it. (At least not what they charge) I listen full albums 99% of the time. Even on the Outlaw station I kept hearing the same tunes over and over. Now if SCM and Trigger had his own station on there I’d be a buyer and $$$ would be no object….lol

Outlaw shifted to Americana (still love the shows by Hillbilly Jim, Steve Earle, Shooter Jennings and Johnny Knoxville) and the main programming is very repetitive… but, every once in awhile I’d find a gem (did you know Patty Loveless’ song, “Nothin’ but the Wheel,” is a Peter Wolf song??). I switched over to Red, White, and Booze for last summer, but that got really repetitive. I occasionally checked out Prime and Willie’s Road House. I do listen to Trig’s playlist when he updates it and I have Amazon Unlimited.
I’ll need something more when spring rolls around and I’m working 12 hour days in the sun.

Yeah rub it in, Cody doesn’t seem to want to come here but Jamey did awhile back. No date this time yet? I can’t really complain….. we had Sarah twice, Whitey in 3 weeks, and a couple Moonpie shows in March.

i agree…even if it makes us sound like TOOL fans. ???????????? (and i mean tool the band. not calling you a “tool”. and i am a fan of tool anyway)
a new album would be long overdue… that being said it looks like i am going to Dallas! ????

I am a huge fan of both Jamey Johnson and Tool, and I daily pine for new material from either, so I relate to your comment!

Jamey ? What’s your beef with Pittsburgh ? Always have to travel to see your shows if cody jinks can sell out back to back nights you can certainly sell out one night

If you add the 2 shows together, Cody Jinks was a sellout in Pittsburgh. I still can’t figure out why they added the second show. They said “due to demand,” but tickets were available for both shows.
We got Whiskey Meyers or Whitey Morgan and Mike and the Moonpies in Pittsburgh for March around the time Johnson is passing through!

Agreed, I don’t think Jamey’s played in Pittsburgh since that show in Homestead the night after George Jones died. The closest he’s been has been Mountaineer Casino over in Wheeling. He’d be great down at Stage AE, and Kelsey’s played 4 shows here in the past couple of years so I know she’d fit in. Plus Erin is doing a house concert here this Spring/Sunmer.
Hopefully something gets added.

Damn. For the most part he’s steering clear of the Midwest on this run.
Haven’t seen him play since he was at a casino in Miami, Oklahoma more than 10 years ago.

The 2nd night was added in Pittsburgh due to a canceled show in Cleveland

Was it really? I knew it had to be for some reason. There wasn’t even a “low ticket alert” before they added the second show under the guise “due to high demand.” It originally pissed me off, because the first date on sale was a Thursday. Then they added a second show on Friday (which is ass backwards and screws the fans who purchased tickets the first week they went on sale). However, we had a great time. AND Jinks broke curfew Thursday night (something he probably wouldn’t had done if he had to jump on the bus and head to a different city).
Both shows sold well…. but you probably had some flockers attending both shows…. hence, I don’t know if one of the shows would have sold out on its own.

Well at least one artist at each of these shows will be probably playing new material.

Yeah, I’m not understanding why Chicago is a regular skip on these tours other than artists waiting for summer festivals, which are not interesting.
I don’t subscribe to satellite radio because I rarely drive. My go to (especially later at night) is streaming Eddie Stubbs on WSM. During the later hours he shifts away from Clint Black and Garth Brooks and plays some really good stuff.

Not sure about $32/ticket. $20 – $25 seems more appropriate.
