Mile 0 Fest Announces Initial 2024 Lineup

Mile 0 Fest in Key West, Florida has now gone from the scrappy newcomer in the Texas/Red Dirt music realm to one of the festivals annually that all the artists want to play, and every fan wants to attend. Seeing your favorite music in paradise just makes for more memorable moments.
For the 2024 installment scheduled on January 23rd to 27th, many of the Mile 0 Fest mainstays like The Randy Rogers Band, Wade Bowen, Cody Canada and the Departed, and Shane Smith and the Saints return, as does the “Queen of Mile 0 Fest” Jamie Lin Wilson, along with the Mile 0 Fest House Band Mike and the Moonpies.
Newcomers to the 2024 roster include the Josh Abbott Band, who surprisingly are making their first appearance, punk country pioneers the Vandoliers who are sure to set the stage on fire, as well as fast-rising Texas soulful songwriter and performer Tanner Usrey, and Oklahoma songwriter Lance Roark. Crowd favorites The Steel Woods, Kaitlin Butts, and The Red Clay Strays will also be making their return.
More names will be added to the 2024 Mile 0 Fest roster closer to the event.
Mile 0 Fest is not easy to get to and not cheap to stay at. But it’s a world away from any other musical experience, with Key West and everything it has to offer being one of the main attractions. Listening to your favorite singer/songwriter on the Southernmost Beach in the United States, or your favorite band on the famous Sunset Pier, or taking in the nightly afterparty collaborations when who knows what will happen is juice that is well worth the squeeze.
Pre-sale is on now. General sale starts on July 10th. To see what you can expect, check out Saving Country Music’s 2023 Mile 0 Fest Recap. For more information including information on ticket/lodging packages, go to mile0fest.com.

No disrespect to her, but Morgan Wade getting the second spot on the festival list? Bit surprising with some of those other names on there..

Morgan Wade is signed to a major label and is a pretty big concert draw and growing. I was surprised myself to see the venues she’s playing. With a new album coming out, she could be even bigger by January. My only question is if it’s roots music, and how it fits into this world. But it doesn’t really fit anywhere, so it’s hard to exclude her. I wrote about this a while back.

I’ve seen some grousing about how Mile 0 no longer has the big headliners like the Turnpike Troubadours, Cody Jinks, Tyler Childers, etc. The problem is these artists have blown up so exponentially, they’ve outgrown a festival like this. The main ampitheater can only hold so many people, and these artists have outgrown that capacity. It would be cool if some of these artists still came and played, esp. Turnpike since they canceled on them one year. But this kind of music is exploding in popularity, and it’s thanks in part to a lot of these independent festivals like Mile 0 Fest throwing support behind these artists early on. We could see Morgan Wade explode next.

Morgan is selling out most of the shows she plays. Had to add nights to a few stops due to demand. I see her getting big, she is quite unique. Can’t pigeonhole her.

In the next month, Wade is playing 4 times more or less locally, and I almost can not avoid seeing her…
July 5, 2023 @ 10:50 am
Playing 2 nights at Reggies glendel??? Wow! Not even sold out yet?? I really don’t care for that neighborhood but I like the bar. They will be a cool shows to see for sure. You obviously won’t get the chance to see her at these venues much longer. She drew around 1000 at Joe’s Live 1800 capacity when she played there.
Busy weekend coming up here Sunny is playing The Venue in Aurora Fri night and Tommy Prine and 49 Winchester are playing separate shows Saturday. Drake Milligan is playing The High Noon Saloon in Madison tomorrow night. None of these shows are sold out.

Won’t be there, but could do milw summerfest this weekend, lolla regular, and the 2 Reggie’s if I really cared.

I am a huge Morgan Wade fan so this will come across as biased but based on streaming alone she has more monthly listens on Spotify than Randy, Wade and Shane combined. The Ranch out of Fort Worth refers to her as one of “their artists” and often the DJ’s comment about her posts or new music coming out. She’s probably one of the most played female artists on that station. Red Dirt/Texas Country radio has fully embraced her despite her different style, origins, and ties to Nashville. I think Morgan may actually be the biggest artist on this bill and it’s great to see a female at the top of the lineup for a change.

Looks like a real sausage fest. I’m sorry so few women musicians are included in this event.

I saw Randy Rogers in Nashville and there were a ton of chicks there. Every festival doesn’t need to model itself after the WNBA.

I meant performers not audience. I bet you knew that though…

Mile 0 Fest is one of the very few festivals you will see in this space with a woman on the top line. There can always be more women, but this does not come across to me as a “sausage fest” at all. It is very difficult for these festivals to find women who either want to play, or are appropriate for the fest. It’s easy to sit back and say “book more women.” But when there’s five male artists for every female artist in the industry, this is going to be reflected on festival lineups. I was just talking with a promoter the other day abut this very thing. They want to book more women. But there has to be women to book. That is why supporting women just trying to start their careers is so critical.

This lineup is absolutely stacked.

Glad that Charlie Robinson is out there again.

I am disappointed in the lineup. We are planning on going. In the first four lines I only really care to see American Aquarium. I wish red dirt did it for me but it just doesn’t. That said, I will go even if it is just to see John Fullbright and Charlie. Three years ago Fullbright played perhaps the best show I have ever seen there. If anyone gets the chance to see him with a full band, I highly suggest it!

Weird that the festival that says “Red Dirt” on the poster is largely Red Dirt. Fantastic lineup for me since I love Red Dirt. I’m not disappointed in CMA Fest when it’s radio pop country since that’s what they do.
July 5, 2023 @ 12:38 pm
I’ll certainly be back for this festival in January, 2024.
I went a few years ago and had a great time.
This looks like a fun line-up.

This will be year seven for me, I refuse to miss this chance to escape WI winters. The intimate size of the festival is also a plus. Always enjoy seeing folks I met over the years.

Love the Vando shoutout. Criminally underrated band!
This trip is one I’ve had on the list for a while. Definitely not cheap, but the wife and I were supposed to honeymoon in Key West before COVID killed it. I’ve always thought catching this one year would be a helluva make up, but never pulled the trigger.

Happened upon this festival a few years ago when the wife and I were on an unrelated trip to KW! Didn’t even know it was a thing but it was awesome, even got to shoot the breeze with Trent Tomlinson (who was great).

What about The Great Divide??!!
