Miranda Lambert, Parker McCollum, Cody Johnson Lead New Flood Benefit
Flood relief benefits continue to be announced in Texas after the devastation during the July 4th weekend in Central Texas. This is not only good news for those looking for relief, but for those looking for opportunities to help. It also turns out these benefits are resulting in some once-in-a-lifetime lineups, and all for a good cause.
The Robert Earl Keen-organized benefit on August 28th at the Whitewater Ampitheater in New Braunfels sold out almost immediately. Along with a host of other names, Tyler Childers, Cross Canadian Ragweed, and Miranda Lambert pledged their time to the event. It won’t be the only benefit Miranda Lambert will be participating in.
Announced on Friday, Miranda Lambert, Parker McCollum, Kelly Clarkson, and Cody Johnson will headline the “Band Together Texas” benefit at Austin’s Moody Center on August 17th. Ronnie Dunn, Lyle Lovett, Randy Rogers Band, Wade Bowen, Jack Ingram, Jon Randall, Ryan Bingham, Lukas Nelson, and Dylan Gossett are also scheduled to perform.
Along with all of the musical guests, regional celebrities Matthew McConaughey, Dennis Quaid, MLB pitcher Roger Clemens, University of Texas coach Mack Brown, quarterbacks Colt McCoy and Vince Young, and UT players Chris Harrison and Emmanuel Acho will also appear.
“One of the things I love about both our artist community and our community in Texas is that we show up for one another, especially in times of such great need like folks in my home state are facing after the flood,” shares Lambert. “There is so much devastation and loss, yet what’s given me hope are the stories of those that have come to the aid of so many. That’s what we want to do with Band Together: Texans helping Texas. We hope it is a night that helps with healing while raising awareness and funds for The Community Foundation of Texas Hill Country and the Central Texas Community Foundation.”
Tickets for Band Together Texas will first be made available via presale registration open now through Monday, July 21 at 5 p.m. CT at bandtogethertexas.com. Presale passwords will be issued Tuesday, July 22 via registered email. Presale starts Wednesday, July 23 at 10 a.m. CT. Any remaining tickets will be available at general on sale beginning Friday, July 25 at 10 a.m. CT.
