Miranda Lambert Signs Traditionalist Jake Worthington to Her Label

When talking about the surge of young new traditionalists saving country music in real time, make sure you don’t forget to mention Jake Worthington. Not dissimilar to Zach Top and others, Jake Worthington has captured the greatness of ’90s country, but with new songs and a fresh face that young and old can enjoy together.

Worthington was already signed to Big Loud Records and released his well-received self-titled album in 2023. But sharing a label with Morgan Wallen, HARDY, and other huge mainstream names, it’s not hard to see how he could get overshadowed or forgotten. So as part of Big Loud’s new imprint operated by Miranda Lambert and Jon Randall called Big Loud Texas, they have decided to move Worthington over, likely ahead of a new album.

Announced on Saturday (10-5) during a Miranda Lambert Mutt Nation event benefit concert in Nashville, Jake Worthington is officially the second signee to Big Loud Texas, joining Dylan Gossett on the roster. It also comes on the heels of Worthington releasing a duet with Miranda Lambert with the NSFW title “Hello Shitty Day” (listen below).

“I’m really proud to say, I get to announce this from stage tonight,” Lambert said. “I’m a co-founder of a new label called Big Loud Texas, and our sole job is to keep the outlaw movement going and to keep the great stuff from the great state of Texas out there for the people. And as of last week, we got one of my favorite artists of all time on our label. I want y’all to welcome back to the stage my friend Jake Worthington! Did y’all hear him earlier? He is country as a biscuit, and I love it!”

Originally from LaPorte, Texas near Houston, Worthington took some times for traditionalists to warm up to since he first emerged as a contestant on The Voice, finishing 2nd on the 6th season. Ever since then, he’s hung around Texas and Nashville, refining his chops, and becoming like the Mark Chesnutt of the current generation.

“I believe in country music as much as I believe in my next breath,” Worthington says. “Blame it on my raising, but I think there ought to be room for country in country music.”

There’s plenty of room for him in Texas, and with the rising interest in traditional country music, this might be the opportunity both for Jake Worthington and Big Loud Texas to take it to the next level.
