Moment of Prayer for Joey Feek of Joey + Rory Planned for Thursday Evening
Joey Feek of the country duo Joey + Rory is in the final stages of life after receiving a terminal diagnosis following surgery and treatment for Cancer, and her husband and singing partner Rory has asked for a moment of prayer on Thursday evening (11-5) at 8:00 p.m. Central from fans, friends, family, and concerned individuals.
“In the book of Matthew, it says ‘”¦for where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them,'” Rory Feek wrote in his latest blog post. “I have heard that here in Joey’s hometown, people are going to line the streets of downtown Alexandria with candles on Thursday night for Joey’s prayer. And back home in Nashville and in other places all across the country and world, many are gathering to pray. Some in person, and most online. But all together”¦ to lift up the mother of our three beautiful daughters.”
Rory detailed how Joey is resting at home with her family in Indiana, and how Rory’s two daughters from a previous marriage have driven up from Nashville to be with their stepmother. Rory and Joey Feek have been married for thirteen years. “The dictionary says a ‘stepmother’ is: ‘the wife of one’s father by a later marriage,'” says Rory. “I don’t think I’ve ever heard the girls tell anyone that Joey is their step-mom. But I have heard them tell people numerous times that she is their mother.”
Joey Feek was first diagnosed with cervical Cancer shortly after the birth of the couple’s daughter Indiana in June of 2014. Indiana was born with Down Syndrome. The duo released seven studio albums, and in 2010 won Top New Vocal Duo of the Year at the ACM Awards. Joey and Rory’s faith has never wavered despite the tragic nature of how their personal journey has unfolded over the last 18 months.

And if you happen to not be the praying type, perhaps send some good thoughts their way this evening. I can’t remember the last time I’ve read such a heart-wrenching story.

I’m one of the only people on here who has any clue what you’re talking about. I used to be quite an avid player.

I am still an avid player. I usually put over 700 hours on a Pokemon cartridge. I usually name my critters after characters out of books.

Cancer sucks. Just this morning, I heard from one of my professors, a world-renowned neurologist, that he had discovered a new cancer treatment. He couldn’t reveal any details because the university won’t publish it until they know they can make money off of it (yes, really) but from what I hear, it’s good stuff. We’re not there yet, but I’m confident that someday, somebody will discover a true cure. It’s just a shame we couldn’t figure it out in time to save Joey. My thoughts and prayers go out to Joey, Rory, their family, and all the other people suffering from cancer.

Definitely praying for her, they sure could put out a few more good albums. But as the good book says, better to be away from the body and at home with the Lord

I hadn’t heard about the cancer diagnosis, that’s awful. Saw Joey + Rory at Merlefest several years back and enjoyed every minute of their set. Thoughts, prayers & good vibes going out to them.

Praying hard for this family. 18 month ordeal, so thankful my wife went in a blink of an eye. Heckuva shock, but no suffering. God is indeed good.

God has a plan for all of us, and sometimes his plan is hard to accept or comprehend. We lose those close to us throughout life, its just part of the journey. But, though they are gone now, remember that one day we will be rejoined with them after crossing through the gates of heaven. Don’t say “goodbye”, goodbye is forever. Just say “see you later.”
Prayers for those in need.

Rory’s blog says Joey is in pain. Who can bear the heartache of seeing your loved one in pain. I’m soo sorry but I’m grateful for the months they’ve had together.
