New Adds to Saving Country Music’s Top 25 Current Playlist (#174)

There are now over 11,000 people following this playlist on Spotify alone. Nobody pays to get on this playlist. You have to earn it by releasing a great country song. And with limited spots, you know each song is tops.
The Saving Country Music Top 25 Playlist is built to keep you informed on all the best songs and albums coming out right here, right now in country and roots music. It’s available on most all streaming formats (see below), or you can just use the song, artist, and album recommendations to find something new to listen to.
Newest Additions:
Dale Watson – “If You Really Love Me (Outlive Me)” – It might be a little morbid, but Dale Watson really croons out what feels like an instant classic, perfectly set in the Countrypolitan era for extra nostalgia. It’s from Dale’s upcoming album Unwanted out April 24th
Hannah Dasher – “Waffle House” – Hannah says she wrote this song some 13 years ago but was told it was “too country.” No such thing in 2026, so smother and cover it in steel guitar and serve it up greasy.
Bella White – “False Start” – Bella has officially announced her next album A Sing In The Weather out May 29th. “False Start” was written in the aftermath of the hurricane catastrophe in North Carolina. “It came from a place of feeling so sick of hearing people gossip about surface-level drama when it felt like there were more important things to talk about.”
Cole Goodwin – “Howdy” – Listening to Cole Godwin’s new single will immediately fill your heart with the confidence that country music will be just fine for the present and future. It’s not just Zach Top bringing back the neotraditional sound. It’s a whole slew of artists like Cole Goodwin. He separates himself from the herd with “Howdy.”
Alex Amen – “Cabin By The Sea” – This is folk country at its finest from this native Texan now living in California. “Cabin By The Sea” immediately shepherds you to a much more pleasant time to be alive.
Eric Lee Beddingfield – “Hide and Go Cheat” – It takes talent and skill to write, sing, and release a country music cheating song in 2026 that still has a fresh take and perspective. This is what Beddingfield does brilliantly here. “Hide and Go Cheat” is off his new album Resurrection.
JD Graham – “Truth In Tears” – Every day we all engage in fake smiles and put-on pleasantries as part of routine. But tears never betray the emotions behind them. This duet with Tulsa music legend John Fullbright is perhaps the masterpiece of JD Graham’s new album Uppers & Downers.
Joshua Ray Walker – “Capital Letters” – Joshua Ray Walker is a gem and marvel of American music. His new song “Capital Letters” from his upcoming album Ain’t Dead Yet (5-29) shows off why, from his singing ability, to his writing and composition.

Y’ALL. Hannah Dasher is a gem. Her recent stuff is clearly set in the same universe as Loretta’s Fist City (and Chapel Hart’s You Can Have Him Jolene, and a bunch of Ashley McBryde’s Lindyville characters).

Stellar is not wrong, that Hannah Dasher song is absolutely the goods. Lyrical genius as only she could do…lol I fell off the chair in my office laughing. Thanks Trig! I didn’t know she even dropped that. Congrats to my in heavy rotation gal Meels for getting the opening slot on Kaitlin Butt’s European run. Her Critter Country should go over perfectly on those shows. She’s something special, you’ll see…….I’m sure Trig will get to Brit Taylor’s masterpiece, as it will be in the “discussion” at year’s end 100%.
Things are heating up here in the Midwest for the spring with so many shows! Thank God I have Samy to help me keep track of em all, (she actually makes us a spreadsheet every month!), starting with the River Shook Duo this Friday and Lydia Cash opening. How about Joe’s on Weed St with 3 big shows having Drake Milligan, Jake Worthington, and Silverada!!!
Carol’s Pub has got Craig Gerdes, Colby Acuff, The Kruse Brothers (whose album is currently vying for the top spot here), and Ellis Bullard with The Rangers opening. Preston McCabe is readying his 15 track debut LP for imminent release, and not only has he got some great tunes he wrote on here, he’s got a few from Ben Jarrell and his team as well. Meg and The Wheelers drop their debut album, Honky Tonk Wisdom, on May 1st with an album release show the following night and David Quinn as Special Guest!!! I’m exhausted just thinkin’ about it all.

+1 on the Cole Goodwin. How’d we never think of that rhyme before?
