Old Salt Festival Announces 2025 Lineup, Unique Experience

It’s about food. It’s about land stewardship. It’s about sustainable ranching practices. And it’s also about music. It’s the Old Salt Music Festival in Helmville, Montana on the Mannix Family Ranch. It will be happening in 2025 from June 20th to 22nd. It’s a small festival, but one with a very big music lineup, and an even bigger mission.
The 2025 Old Salt Music Festival will feature Nikki Lane, Jake Worthington, Brennen Leigh, Cristina Vane, Melissa Carper, Sterling Drake, Margo Cilker, Theo Lawrence, and Hannah Juanita, all traveling to Montana to participate. Local and regional bands include Buffalo Kin, Timber Rattlers, Wild Horses, Bar Jay Bar, Jo Smith, Adda Boyd, Tanner Laws, Zia Blue, Buffalo Burrows, Ruru Norbury, as well as Jackson Holte and the Highway Patrol.
Along with three days of music, the Old Salt Music Festival is “bringing together musicians, chefs, makers & thinkers who share a deep connection to our western land and its traditions. Come be part of a gathering that honors hard work, good food, and music that carries the spirit of the West.”
What does this mean exactly? It means that along with good food and good music, the festival also features conversations on ranching, conservation, and land stewardship, as well as demonstrations on cattle management, and other Western-inspired techniques and traditions, including mule packing, and land talks.
If you’re looking for an alternative to the massive crowds of megafestivals and a more full-bodied Western experience this summer, Old Salt might be right for you. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit oldsaltfestival.com.

No huge names in this lineup, but some pretty good ones. Having other events going on along with the music would allow you to catch the bands you like most, and check out the exhibits during bands you’re not as interested in. Sounds like a fun couple days.

I can’t think of a current, better event made for country music (besides Farm Aid).
