Outlaw Radio & Mojo Medicine Move to SCM LIVE!
I am happy, proud, and humbled to announced that two of the best podcasts out there, Outlaw Radio Chicago hosted by Jashie P, and The Reverend Nix shows of Stink Finger Radio and the Mojo Medicine Show are now permanent fixtures (till I figure out how to screw it up) of the SCM LIVE media channel. Outlaw Radio has been archiving their show on the site for a while, but now it will be broadcast here LIVE!
The radio gold goes down every Wednesday starting at 7 PM Central with Rev. Nix’s Stink Finger Radio, featuring homemade music from homegrown people: the best in cigar box guitar, deep roots, muddy roots, slippery roots, and boiled and sauteed roots music. Next comes the best, longest-running REAL country weekly podcast, Outlaw Radio at 8 PM.
Also Reverend Nix does the two-hour Mojo Medicine Show starting at 3 PM Central every Friday.
There’s lots of big things in the works for SCM Live, and don’t forget that TODAY (10-5) we have a very cool event going down at 7 PM Central, as Whitey Morgan & The 78’s debut their new album in its entirety, on vinyl!
In other podcasting news, IBWIP has released Episode #45, and after a hiatus, Blue Ribbon Radio has a new episode starring Six Gun Britt.
Also be looking for a new episode of The Roundtable coming very soon, and maybe a SCM Live Gospel show on Sundays? Stay tuned.

I’m really excited about this, seems to make sense. Unfortunately I’ll miss the debut tomorrow night, but I’m glad you reminded us about Whitey Morgan and the 78s! I’ll just be cookin’ up a pot of chili, so perfect time to tune in for some tunes. Thanks Triggerman!

Well you can always catch Outlaw Radio right here too, archived an available any time.
Chili sound good about right now.

Trigger-wasn’t sure where to put this, but do you know anything about Hellbound Glory’s new remastered CD?
Love the site!
October 5, 2010 @ 5:20 pm
Oh I’ll be sure to check out the show after the fact!

I’ve really gotta stop breaking shit. That’s my 3rd hiatus this year.

That nearly 2 hour long interview / live performance that Nix did with BluesBeaten Redshaw all the way from damn Sweden is the likely winner for my favorite online radio moment.

Sounds great Triggerman. Can’t wait to hear more about the gospel show.
October 5, 2010 @ 10:03 am
My biggest concern about that is making sure there’s interest. If you and some others are into it, we’ll make it happen. One of the best podcasters around would be the one to host it.

Gospel is the foundation of country music. Even outlaw country. I think a show like that would not only bring more people to the site but also to the underground country movement. I love the music featured here but some of it you just can’t share with certain people. Hank III is one of my favorite artist but most of my friends & family just don’t get his music because of songs like Straight To Hell & PFF. Yet I played my mom Billy Joe Shaver’s If You Don’t Love Jesus & she loved it. There is a way to do outlaw gospel just listen to the song God Save Us From Religon by Charlie Daniels & Marty Stuart. I also have Greg Allman doing Will The Circle Be Unbroken.

100% correct and Blues music also. These both go hand and hand with Gospel music. Im 100% commended to building back a road to that long forgotten place. Im hoping we can pull this off.
October 5, 2010 @ 6:25 pm
I’d likely listen to it.

seconding Ga. Outlaw. i think a Gospel show is a kick ass idea… there’s all kinds of great Billy Joe Shaver songs, plus Scott Biram, .357, The Weary Boys – and that’s just limiting it to the obvious stuff. i think of III’s Callin Your Name as a Gospel song too.

Thanks to all you guys for supporting me. I will continue to dig as deep into homemade muddy dirty stinky swampy foot stompn guitar music fer ya’lls! You can take that to the bank! Thanks for having me Everybody and thank you Triggerman.
October 5, 2010 @ 5:48 pm
Can’t wait to see y’all tomorrow! Also, Trig, let’s pick a day to do the damn round table!
October 5, 2010 @ 7:00 pm
Gospel would be awesome! All I know about gospel is I need to know more.
October 6, 2010 @ 3:04 am
that’s awesome! i’ll try to get a show live. fucking time lag…
October 6, 2010 @ 3:06 am
ps: why is there no episode 107 ?
October 6, 2010 @ 7:32 am
Kind of a long story. As I recall, Jashie was really busy at that time, and then there were technical difficulties with the show, and he just didn’t have the time to redo it for the archive. He might be able to fill you in more.
October 6, 2010 @ 6:23 am
Just brings a smile to my face. That’s all.
October 6, 2010 @ 10:57 am
About 6 more hours till showtime. And I am not at work for once today!

That was great last night, great album and great live nuggets afterward! Can’t wait for the new Whitey Morgan next week, and can’t wait for more SCM LIVE!
