There is no doubt that moving to Memphis was the right call for the organization. For Ameripolitan to grow and prosper, and to make sure it doesn’t get stuck in a rut and become simply a local Austin event, a change of scenery was called for after holding the event at Austin’s Paramount Theatre for the last three years.

And if it needs any qualifiers, it would be that it leans more toward the Outlaw style. There’s no compromise, no songs getting intro’d with a drum machine beat. It is true country music in every sense.

Willie Nelson had to cut his Sunday night (8-13) concert at the USANA Amphitheatre in Salt Lake City short due to shortness of breath the country legend suffered during the performance. The 84-year-old was still in the early part of his set when he had to leave the stage and never returned. Willie was rushed to the Intermountain Medical Center.
