Parker McCollum Signs to Warner/Chappell Nashville
For those who were paying attention, Parker McCollum’s 2017 record Probably Wrong was probably one of the better-written releases all year, and went unfairly under-the-radar in a busy year for marquee albums from up-and-coming artists. But someone was apparently paying attention, because Parker is the latest signee to the publishing concern Warner/Chappell Nashville. This puts the 25-year-old in one of the biggest publishing houses in the business, and should open him up to significantly more opportunities.
“I have envisioned this moment for years, so it’s literally a dream come true,” says McCollum. “I’m proud to call Warner/Chappell Nashville my songwriting home. My goal has always been to evolve personally, creatively and professionally; to dig deeper and pull the best out of myself. I know that surrounding myself with the best people is part of making that happen, and I’ve found that team here.”
Randy Rogers has played a big role in the development of McCollum, who is based out of Austin, TX. Rogers recently signed Parker to his Big Blind Management roster. And now with the Warner/Chappell deal and booking through WME, this puts Parker on sure footing.
“I met Parker a few years back at a show he played with the Randy Rogers Band,” says Randy. “I tracked him down after the show and started asking questions. I knew immediately that he would be a great fit at our management company. His drive alone is what sealed the deal for me. He knows where he wants to go, and that makes all the difference.”
Warner/Chappell Nashville President Ben Vaughn says of the signing, “Parker is the real deal. Fans are reacting to his authentic lyrics that meet them where they are in their lives. We are proud to welcome him to the Warner/Chappell family and look forward to seeing him continue on his journey.”

I have liked this artist since at least 2015 when I discovered him on 95.9 The Ranch KFWR out of Fort Worth, Texas. It was his song “Meet You in the Middle” and then “High Above The Water” both from his album The Limestone Kid that really got him going in the Texas music scene. So glad to see him get a major record deal and wish him the best.

Just to clarify, this is not a record deal per se, this is a publishing deal, which deals with songwriting rights and placement, etc. For a songwriter, it’s very similar to getting a record deal. It’s definitely a big step up and could help lead to a record deal eventually.

Agreed! I haven’t stopped listening since the first time I heard “Meet You in the Middle.” That album was great and then instead of selling out he just doubled down on his next album.
It’s really amazing when you compare him to someone else his age like Kane Brown…

This is how country radio gets saved. First a publishing deal, then a contract. As long as he doesn’t get sucked into the music row black hole, he might just be the catalyst needed to change things around.

As a musician myself, one of of the most endearing things about a fellow musician is when they’ve written things I have wanted or tried to write before. That has been my experience with Parker in numerous songs of his such as “Hell of a Year” and “All Day” do that for me. He is the real deal and is an excellent writer. Let’s all hope and pray the machine doesn’t destroy his soul…

Looks like the exact kind of guy teen girls drool over so they’ll throw enough $ at him to appeal.

I still think he can take Rocky in a rematch. RIP Apollo Creed.
