Robert’s Western World Announces Satellite Location at New Nashville Stadium

Robert’s Western World is known as the “Home of Traditional Country Music” on Lower Broadway in Nashville, and is one of the few bars in that over-commercialized corridor that’s actually worth pushing your way through the throngs of tourists to get to and enjoy the music. Any and all performers are required to keep it traditional, and the Robert’s stage has been a proving ground for talent for many years, helping to launch the national careers for folks like Joshua Hedley and Daniel Donato.

On Monday (8-3), Robert’s Western World held their now annual “Fan Fair” where they block off Lower Broadway and bands play in a free, open-to-the-public event. Hayes Carll, Dale Watson, Ben and Noel Haggard, Sarah Gayle Meech, Sweet Megg, Joshua Hedley, and many others performed. But one interesting piece of news that dropped during the event is that the music institution’s first satellite property will be opening at the new Nissan Stadium currently being constructed.

On the 300 level of the new stadium slated to be open in February of 2027, there will be a mini version of Robert’s Western World. Similar to a satellite establishment you might see at an airport or maybe other stadiums, it will include a lot of the Robert’s Western World staples, including apparently traditional country music.

“We feel we have a huge responsibility in protecting and preserving the tradition, history and integrity of the music that built our beautiful ‘Music City,’” says Emily Ann Jones, co-owner of Robert’s Western World with JesseLee Jones. “Through the years we’ve had the opportunity to partner with some big cities and brands, but it never felt right. When presented this opportunity from our hometown team, we had no reservations, as they understood what we are all about. We are grateful to the Titans for recognizing our love for this city and the tradition we are trying to preserve, and we are honored to join them at their beautiful new stadium. We can’t wait to see y’all there.”

The building housing Robert’s Western World is right across the alley from the Ryman Auditorium, and just down the row from Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge. It was a warehouse and offices until the late 1950s when steel guitar legends Shot Jackson and Buddy Emmons bought it and used it to house their Sho-Bud Steel Guitar Company’s manufacturing hub and showroom. It remained as such until the early ’80s.

Eventually, 416 Broadway B became a liquor store, until Robert Moore bought it, and turned it into Robert’s Rhinestone Western Wear—a clothier shop. He later added a bar, food, and live entertainment, and Robert’s Western World was born. Throwback neotraditionalist band BR549 was the big draw on Lower Broadway at the time, and was the house band at Robert’s. JesseLee Jones showed up, the BR549 members began calling him the “Brazilian Hillbilly.” In 1999, Robert sold the business to JesseLee Jones, who became the full owner with his wife Emily Ann Jones.
