Rodeo Austin Announces Impressive 2026 Lineup

Rodeo Austin is always good for a few really solid country acts on the lineup each year, even if it traditionally completes with SXSW (South By Southwest) that also happens in A-town the same week. But in 2026, SXSW is featuring a strange, truncated schedule, and Rodeo Austin has really stepped up to help feature some of the best in independent country music.
49 Winchester, Shane Smith and the Saints, Wyatt Flores, Flatland Cavalry, Randall King, Anne Wilson, William Clark Green—and despite his recent single with Marshmello—Hudson Westbrook are some of the names worth checking out in 2026. Rodeo Austin also has a strong lineup of country legends this year, including Clint Black, Tanya Tucker, and Diamond Rio. Aaron Watson and Midland also help round out the lineup, along with (*cough*) Eli Young Band, and a couple of cool Latin bands too.
It’s Rodeo Houston that’s the massive Texas rodeo that commands the biggest stage and has the biggest national impact, and they have a few good names like The Red Clay Strays, Cody Johnson, and Cross Canadian Ragweed in 2026.
But frankly, Rodeo Austin has a much better lineup this year since it’s not weighted down by Luke Bryan, Russell Dickerson, Rascal Flatts, and Shaboozey. And the Travis County Expo Center is a much more manageable place to see one of your favorite artists as opposed to Houston’s football stadium.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 23rd at rodeoaustin/tickets.

It’s disappointing the Denver Stock Show and Rodeo can’t get something like this going. The fiddling competition was good but no one seemed to care.

20 years ago when I was a senior in high school our FFA chapter took the cross country trip on bus from Ohio, to Denver for the stock and Rodeo shows. It was fun and very mild I remember, around 70 degrees that year in Denver. We did see a concert while there I think, but can’t remember it was.
There was a snow storm going on in Ohio when we were driving back home and then bus broke down on I-71. They had to send another bus to come get us.
Going back to Denver and maybe checking out Telluride and the Rockies again is on my bucket list someday

Wyatt… Rosie Flores’ son, grandson or something?

No. But Rosie and Wyatt are both great.

Lol the fact that you had to put down Houstons Rodeo to write this piece about ATX Rodeo and it will still never compare! Do better news publisher! It’s not a good look for the city nor for the event!

Nobody “had” to put down Rodeo Houston to publish this. If Rodeo Houston doesn’t want to be put down, quit selling out to Nashville talent, and book more local/regional talent, and better talent overall like Rodeo Austin did this year. Nashville isn’t going to go out of its way to feature Texas talent, so why is the biggest stage in Texas doing so? As said in the article, there are some good names on Rodeo Houston this year. There are also so super lame ones.

Been a HLSR “parishioner” and committee member for many years now and the bottom line is its been the last four or five years the HLSR has actually had lineups worth discussing. The rodeo by far is amazing but the concerts are trash year in and year out. I honestly can’t believe anyone at all defends this show. Nevermind the fact NRG sucks for shows unless you’re on the floor.

Saw nothing but Pop Cointry acts with the exception of a few true country acts along the way. Someone ruined good Country music along the way and it seems like everyone just ignored it. If you can’t dance to it, its not Country!

I wish hoping to see The Chicks on the list.

San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo did a good job this year too. Droptines, Pat Green, REK, 49 Winchester, Shane Smith (finals). There’s some other not so stellar stuff, but a big improvement from a few years ago.

I kind of lost track of EYB after about 2014. They kind of are to country to me what OAR was to the jam band scene of the early 2000’s. Not quite talented enough to hang in their respective scenes, so moved more mainstream and cashed in on name recognition. Catchy tunes, but nothing I would go out of my way to see.
