It’s official. After months of trying to locate buyers and investors for the failing music crowdfunding service and pleading with both performers and the public for patience, PledgeMusic co-founder Benji Rogers announced on Wednesday (5-8) that the company is officially heading for bankruptcy.
“When we first came across PledgeMusic it looked like the perfect platform,” says Noah Alexander, lead vocalist and guitarist of the Plott Hounds. “It existed in the space between us and fans all over the world. It gave us a platform to draw attention to the creation of our new record. It gave us the platform to connect with our fans and invite them to be a part of the process.”
The Southern rock side of the country music space is blessed with some serious stalwart bands that have been around for years. At the same time, just like with every genre of music, the flux of bands breaking up and legends passing means there’s always room for fresh faces and new perspectives on the music to help keep it vital.
