Tanglefoot Music & BBQ Fest Reveals Beefy 2025 Lineup

Temple, TX right between Austin and Waco has always been an under-utilized location for showcasing Texas country music. That will be the case no more as the city has announced the inaugural Tanglefoot Festival in the heart of the city that will be a celebration of Texas country music, barbecue, along with showcasing other civic events.

Set to go off September 12th and 13th, they didn’t go light on their inaugural lineup. They rounded up some of the topmost talent in Texas, from the independent to the mainstream, from legends and up-and-comers, and put them all on the same bill. Parker McCollum and Cody Jinks lead the charge, with a host of other top-quality performers making the lineup.

“Temple, Texas, has long been known by the nickname ‘Tanglefoot’ – a nod to our city’s rich history and vibrant spirit,” the city says. “The name dates back to Temple’s early days as a booming railroad town, where travelers, workers, and locals filled the bustling streets, enjoying lively gatherings, toe-tapping music, and true Texas hospitality. Some say the nickname came from the lively energy of those early days, a place where feet were always moving, dancing, celebrating, and forging the strong community spirit that still defines Temple today.”

Whether you live in Central Texas or the surrounding area, or you’re just a fan of Texas music living somewhere else, this will be an excellent opportunity to see it all in one place. Along with the legendary Randy Rogers Band and Robert Earl Keen, you also have some of the best live performers in all of country music, including Silverada and The Wilder Blue.

One slight gripe is there’s only one woman on the lineup: Shelby Stone. There’s a lot of women in Texas music too, and they always seem to be side stepped or overlooked in these instances, even when municipalities as opposed to for-profits are involved. Maybe we can add one or two more before September, or keep that in mind for next year.

Make no mistake though, Tanglefoot puts some great Texas music font and center, and hopefully the City of Temple is rewarded for their troubles.

Tickets go on sale on Friday, April 25th at tanglefoottx.com
