The 2024 Christmas Country Playlist (UPDATED)
If you’re looking for that perfect Christmas playlist that specializes in country music, and is dedicated to new songs or new version of old classics released this year, you’ve come to the right place. The Saving Country Music Christmas Playlist is excruciatingly curated and courageously focused on not being too sappy. It’s also a great way to discover a new artist you’ve never heard before.
Since some folks procrastinate getting their Christmas songs released like that crazy uncle who purchases all his gifts at the drug store on Christmas Eve, this is an updated version of the 2024 playlist with the latest songs released after the original playlist included. You can find all the new songs highlighted in bold in the song list at the bottom.
The 2024 Saving Country Music Christmas Playlist is available on Spotify, YouTube, Amazon, and Apple Music. Find embedded players for your service below, and a list of all the songs in the playlist below that.
NOTE: Though this playlist is dedicated to all new recordings for 2024, Brigid Kaelin’s excellent yodel extravaganza “Blue Dreidel No. 9” has been added to represent all the Jewish cowboys out there. Also, Read Connolly’s “Christmas Music Time (Again)” is from 2020, but is a hilarious track worth highlighting. Read Connolly is Zach Bryan’s steel guitar player, and has also played often with Charles Wesley Godwin.
Happy Holidays from Saving Country Music!

I’m prepared to take some heat on this. Keith Urban’s “I’ll Be Your Santa Tonight” is a good one too!

Blue Dreidel No. 9… Thank you, Trig, it’s truly a very good song, unknown to me, song and artist both.
We need more yodelling in today’s music.

Maybe I’m just being paranoid but does the Ben Gallaher album cover look ai generated to anyone else? Just the general style and then some of the details are slightly off. For example the taillights don’t match and one is blended into the snow.
IMO ai art and music (especially country music) shouldn’t mix. Some of my local venues use it to promote events and it always feels wrong.

i know it doesn’t qualify as country, but i’m just trying to spread some holiday cheer. sue me.
check out the eagles version of “please come home for christmas”, recorded in miami during a ferocious heatwave from what i hear. henley’s vocal is flawless.
also, check out the vince guaraldi trio- charlie brown christmas. this is the soundtrack to the half-hour show. vince is one of the greatest pianists ever, and certainly knew how to create a mood.
ok, go have fun now, kids…but be careful.
