The All New Saving Country Music
As you can see, there have been some changes to the site. Yeah, there’s a new look, but really that was not the point of changing things up. The point was to add some new cool features. The main point of this redesign was to add nesting comments. I’ve always said, comments are the most important part of any article. So much great information and interesting opinions come out in the comments, and I encourage everyone to speak their mind, for or against anything I say, and help spread musical wealth and insight. Now we’ll be able to respond to each others comments in line, to reduce confusion and such. I believe you will also have to option to be alerted through email if someone responds to a comment you left.
Another thing that has been added are quick buttons for Facebook, Twitter, etc., that make it easy for you to share any article by simply clicking the button.
There’s also many more behind-the-scenes changes that long story short will protect the website from being hacked again, and give it more exposure, thus giving the artists and causes we try to promote here more exposure. More very big, very exciting features are coming as well, and I’ll alert you to them when they’re added.
Please understand there may be things changing and general weirdness as we work all the kinks out in the next few days. This is usually a pretty dead holiday weekend, so we figured it was a good time to do it. Certainly if something looks weird to you or is not working, let me know in a comment below.
I want to give a HUGE thank you to Dave Hampton of Aldora Computer Solutions, who has built and managed this website since day 1, and has done an amazing job for very little pay. If you ever need website help, especially if you are a band, then you should take your business to him. As a musician, he understands how important music is, and how to get it to your fans. Without Dave, none of this would be possible. All of us, all the bands and causes we cover owe him a HUGE thank you!!!!
John Steele, the true mother brain behind this whole operation, also deserves thanks. He’s the nicest guy you would ever meet…whose so crazy computer smart he could raise an army of robots to enslave us all.
Also want to say thanks to Kyle Shoultz of Shoultz Design, who made the now famous spread wing savingcountrymusic.com logo and has helped with other graphic design tasks.
And lastly I want to thank all of YOU! This is a joint effort, writer and readers. This is not my website, this is YOUR website, OUR website–the home of the REAL country music fan. Without your eyeballs and your comments, I would never be able to find the energy to keep this thing going. I am completely indebted to all of you for letting me carry this ridiculous and fool-hearty pursuit to this level.
Like Bob Wayne once said, “All my friends are family, my family is my life.”

Looks good Triggerman, thanks to you and all the above mentioned for bringing the music, and the news about the music, to insatiable fans like myself. I can honestly say that this site has had a huge influence on my life the last couple years (since music is my life)!

It looks beta but tat’s to be expected at this point. The added function is more important than the form and that will come soon I am sure. Thanks for putting so much effort into this site it really has opened my eyes to a shit ton of great music!

Nice work. Thanks to all who are involved! One ‘bug’ I have noticed is the SCM Live graphic, that sits up on the left hand side is sort of ‘stepping’ on the headline of the article. It looks like it needs a couple of line spaces to spread them out. Of course I know this isn’t the way to fix it but just trying to describe how it looks. Can you see this bug too?
September 5, 2010 @ 9:03 pm
Do you still see it Carla? How wide is your screen (if it is appropriate to ask in your culture). I can’t see it but I’m pretty sure what’s causing it.
PS, you need a Gravatar http://www.gravatar.com . All the cool kids are doing it. See above post by Dave.

Make sure your web browser is up-to-date. Older Internet Explorers may display the graphics incorrectly. Go to “Help->About” to check your version. Internet Explorer should be version 8. I would actually recommend using Firefox or Chrome instead, as IE has many security issues.
September 6, 2010 @ 12:55 pm
I happen to know that Carla is an Apple snob, so she’s probably using Safari.
🙂
September 6, 2010 @ 1:07 pm
I see now- it’s Safari that was having the issue. Should be fixed now.
September 6, 2010 @ 11:21 am
This is NICE! Good job!

Do I have to be signed into Gravatar for mine to show?
September 6, 2010 @ 10:19 pm
I think once you put your info in there it does pretty good job following you from place to place. You don’t have to be singed in to anything.
September 7, 2010 @ 8:14 am
It uses the email you provide to find your avatar, so as long as you use the same email here as you did on gravatar, it should work.
September 15, 2010 @ 11:34 am
Just a post trying out the gravatar thingy. Hope it works!
September 9, 2010 @ 4:44 pm
