The Muddy Roots Festival Announces 2015 Lineup
The Muddy Roots Music Festival has just announced their 2015 lineup, and it is chock full of legendary roots artist who helped forge what we consider roots music today, and the new generation of artists who are doing their best to carry on those traditions into the future.
Held the first weekend of September this year during the Labor Day Weekend at the June Bug Ranch in Cookeville, TN (about an hour east of Nashville), the Muddy Roots Music Festival has forged one of the most loyal followings on the festival circuit, and has hosted many legendary names over its now five year run.
You never know what to expect from the Muddy Roots lineup. The fest has featured founding names from the punk and metal scenes in the past as well. But 2015 finds names like Ralph Stanley and Bobby Bare making their Muddy Roots returns, and Ray Wylie Hubbard and Peter Rowan making their first appearances. Two headline level names have yet to be announced, but the rest of the 2015 lineup can be found below.

Looks like a very good lineup. And Ray Wylie and Peter Rowan are stellar additions. Love both of them.

Thank you for the support guys! I felt a strong conviction to book as many “legacy” acts this year to pay respects to the roots music we all love. I also set up a small 300 person festival called the Muddy Roots Spring Weekender in Indiana if you prefer the same type of bands without the crowds. Look us up at http://www.muddyrootsrecords.com

Thanks for your hard work Jason. This will be my 3rd Muddy Roots and while I love the punk rock acts, I always prioritize my schedule around the legacy acts and the country, bluegrass, and blues acts. This is my dream lineup. Can’t wait to get to the June Bug Ranch!

Hey Trigger, I’d like to hear your thoughts on Brantley Gilbert’s new single, “Hell of an Amen”. It still has the rock guitars in it, but it’s a much better offering than his previous two singles.

Only thing that sucks about the line up is that it is impossible to see everyone on it.

Muddy Roots problems haha! But I’ll take it!

Glad to see the thrift store outfit on here. They could use some more exposure.

I see Mikey Classic but, no Goddamn Gallows… What’s up with that. Also no Jayke Orvis. Kinda sucks but still a really cool lineup. Can’t wait! Always wanted to see Ray Wylie Hubbard
