The Wilder Blue Just Leveled Up in a Big Way

If you know about the Texas music supergroup The Wilder Blue, chances are you’re a big fan. And if you’re a Wilder Blue fan, chances are you might be a little frustrated and perplexed why there aren’t more Wilder Blue fans out there, and why their undeniable talent hasn’t rocketed them to the front of the line in country music.
Well all of that might be changing soon, and in a big way. Yes, the band is set to open multiple stadium dates for Luke Combs this summer. Luke Combs appeared on their last album via a cover of “Seven Bridges Road,” and that should be a massive opportunity for them. But ahead of all this, they’ve also just signed big new management and booking deals.
Frontman and songwriter Zane Williams, lead guitarist Paul Eason, bassist Sean Rodriguez, multi-instrumentalist Andy Rogers, and drummer Lyndon Hughes have just signed with the massive company WME for global representation. This should give the band more major opportunities to appear on bigger festivals and important opening gigs, as well as hopefully securing bigger and better venues for headlining shows moving forward.
The have also signed a dual management deal with the companies Make Wake Artists and Deep Roots Management, represented by Chris Kappy and Dylan Wright respectively.
“Combining talents and working together is how The Wilder Blue got to where we are,” Zane Williams said in a statement. “Adding the talented folks at Make Wake Artists and WME to our team is the perfect opportunity to take us even farther and we are pumped to take this journey together.”
The Wilder Blue’s songwriting, musicianship, and their five-part harmonies have made them one of the most beloved bands in all of roots music over the last few years. Wanting to keep most everything in-house has kept them grounded and real as the band found its feet. But now it’s clearly an opportunity to level up, and that’s exactly what they’re doing.
And make no mistake, the presence of Luke Combs as a fan has helped facilitate all of this. Combs found out about The Wilder Blue (previously called Hill Country) right here on Saving Country Music.
You can find The Wilder Blue’s 2024 tour dates below. It might be a good idea to see them in smaller venues while you still can.

Whether you like his music or not, Luke Combs is doing a lot for smaller and independent country artists by recording with them and bringing them on tour.

Good for them! This is such an excellent group, with 3 great albums-Hill Country is a near perfect album. My favorite country band right now!
Living in NH, I haven’t had the opportunity to see them live but I hear they are really something special in person.

everytime i hear this band i think they’re incredible. They should be huge!

I think its about time that Mr. Combs lends an ear to The Wild Feathers and throws them the next bone.
February 26, 2024 @ 5:01 pm
Yes! Thank you. I mention them often on here in comments, trying to lure Kyle into featuring them somehow (thus far to no avail). The Wild Feathers are fantastic, three lead singers, each with a great voice, great interweaving of their vocals, great harmonies, they write their own fantastic songs, play their own instruments. …and they kill it live, I have seen them multiple times over the years and they better the studio versions consistently, the true test of a great band. One of the better groups out there at the moment. How they are not a household name is beyond me.
….but it’s not too late, SCM could help! C’mon Kyle (please ????), these guys have been slogging it out in the trenches for a decade and their most recent album of new stuff, Alvarado, might have been their best yet. Shine alight on this talented group. I think fans of Turnpike would eat them up.

Weren’t The Wild Feathers on a major label?
February 26, 2024 @ 11:16 pm
I have no issue with The Wild Feathers. I listened to their 2021 album and liked it enough, but it didn’t strike me as especially rootsy or country. It was more of roots-infused alt-rock, so not in the bullseye of what I usually cover here. But when they release a new album, I’m sure I’ll listen and consider it for coverage here.

“Got It Wrong” is one my favorite songs from the last 10 or 15 years. I haven’t heard much else from them that grabs me.
February 26, 2024 @ 9:50 am
Saw them at BBR last year and they are excellent and a lot of fun to see live. They are also genuinely nice people.
February 26, 2024 @ 3:53 pm
Same here… got to see them again in Key west, repping the hat, and Paul was just the coolest dude about it. Didn’t gather that he’s with Bri, and seemed to see them everywhere. I agree…. Don’t know why I’m not seeing a wilder Blue merch everywhere.
February 26, 2024 @ 9:58 am
See them live if you get the chance. Just a great talented group.
February 26, 2024 @ 10:53 am
What? All kinds of strings, 5 part harmonies, getting down on the dobro in lieu of dual guitars? These guys combine country, bluegrass, rock agave their own sound! Gotta see them live!
February 26, 2024 @ 11:11 am
These guys have been on my ‘see them in a small venue while you can’ list for awhile now. 4/11 Turf Club in St Paul!!
February 26, 2024 @ 4:53 pm
That’s an epic night for shows in the Twin Cities. Charles Wesley Godwin at the Uptown Theater that night too, been wanting to see him in a small venue as well!
February 26, 2024 @ 8:14 pm
Ya, I almost got tickets for CWG at Uptown but decided to check him out on 4/13 at the Sylvee in Madison instead. Saw Charles in Oct 2022 at the Cavalier in La Crosse – 350 ppl tops. Those days are long gone.
February 27, 2024 @ 2:31 pm
These guys seem to me to be on the Gabe Lee or Mike & The Moonpies/Silverada type of trajectory. The talent is there in spades but I don’t know if they will ever truly take off even if they get a label push and open for mega stars. I hope I am wrong and I will try to catch them if they ever come near me.
February 26, 2024 @ 11:11 am
Saw them in Hays last December. Incredible show!!! Bought all of their albums. One of if not the best show I have ever seen. Talked to them afterwards, all really nice guys. Wish them the very best. Thinking about going to that show in Saint Jo.
February 26, 2024 @ 1:10 pm
So excited for this talented, hard working band. I will catch all the shows possible and continue to add their songs to my playlist.
February 26, 2024 @ 9:24 pm
I’m a big fan of Wilder Blue and I do hope this WME “global representation” thing leads to an Australian tour sometime in the next year or two.
February 27, 2024 @ 8:18 pm
They’ve got a groove. And it is great.
February 28, 2024 @ 6:40 am
The deal with Make Wake Artists and Deep Roots Management is interesting. These two management companies co-manage multiple artists. I have heard other managers say that they would not be willing to co-manage, but it seems to be pretty standard for these agencies.
April 19, 2024 @ 5:58 am
Saw these guys last night in Woodstock, NY. Absolutely incredible. The caliber of the musicianship was way beyond what I was expecting. Crazy good live band. Do not miss them!
