Turnpike Troubadours, Lake Street Dive Lead 2022 Floydfest
Floydfest in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia and just off the Blue Ridge Parkway has formally announced their 2022 lineup, and it’s a doozy. Not exclusively a country or roots festival, they consider themselves more a “world” festival, but they always include a healthy dose of cool country and Americana bands.
As part of the Turnpike Troubadours reunion tour, the Oklahoma-based band will be making an appearance at the 5-day festival being held from July 27th to the 31st. They will be one of the headliners along with soul revivalists Lake Street Dive. Don’t be surprised if you see other Turnpike Troubadours festival appearances in 2022 as well, as the band looks to not just reunite with fans after their recent hiatus, but make new ones by venturing farther afield than their Texoma stomping grounds.
Other 2022 Floydfest performers include Sierra Ferrell, who was featured at #4 on Saving Country Music’s Best Live Performers list for 2021. You also have the always-entertaining American Aquarium, the lightning fingers of Trampled by Turtles, Morgan Wade who is swelling in popularity at the moment, Old Crow Medicine Show, Marcus King, Melissa Ethridge, Amythyst Kiah, a mess of cool bluegrass bands, and many more.
Also performing will be 49 Winchester, who won Floydfest’s “On The Rise” contest in 2021, and are guaranteed to continue to be on the rise in 2022 after they signed with New West Records last year.

Dang, this is a killer line-up, hoping some of these bands venture further up the east coast. Upstate NY is great that time of year

Hopefully my status as a pure blood doesn’t keep me from this event.

oh. cat got your tongue, idiot? Hey, good for you “Bill”. You instructed your cells to produce spike proteins, possibly three times so far. In a calendar year. And you will still acquire covid, if you haven’t already. So, Bill, fuck yourself. Hard.

Floydfest is an awesome festival and super friendly. Great if you have a family and are looking for some relaxed/intimate shows or don’t necessarily want to be surrounded by peaked Wooks selling rancid grilled cheeses and bum tabs. Although there is also plenty of wooky shenanigans if that’s what your into. Highly recommend the the cabin porch stage, you can get up close and personal with some fantastic bands.
It would be awesome if Turnpike would play at Lime Kiln Theater again.
