Tyler Childers / Chris Stapleton-Led Healing Appalachia Reveals Full 2025 Lineup

The Tyler Childers-led Healing Appalachia festival has just announced their full lineup for 2025, and it’s a doozy. The event already revealed in April that for 2025, they would be moving from West Virginia to Kentucky, and that fellow Kentucky stalwart Chris Stapleton would be co-headlining the event with Childers. Now they’ve unveiled all the talent set to take the stage at the Boyd County Fairgrounds in Ashland, Kentucky on September 19th and 20th.
Along with Chris Stapleton headlining Friday night, Molly Tuttle, The Infamous Stringdusters, Jesse Welles, Lukas Nelson, Sunny War, Desert Hollow, Corduroy Brown and The Montvales, Jeremy Pinnell and Moose Miller will all be performing.
On Saturday it will be Tyler Childers leading Remi Wolf, Blackberry Smoke, American Aquarium, Cole Chaney, Jonas Conner, Hill Country Devil, Brad Goodall, Conrad Moore, Willie T. Taylor and The Carriers, Kindred Valley and Jack Browning.
Andy Frasco & The U.N. and Jeremy Short will also be playing a Thursday night (9-18) kickoff party.
Healing Appalachia is not just a festival. Everyone volunteers their time (including the artists), and it all goes to addiction and recovery support in the part of the country hardest hit by the opioid and prescription drug crisis. Along with all the other elements you can expect from a music festival like cool food vendors and crafters, scores of organizations set up to help individuals with addiction are on site.
“At Hope in the Hills we are equal parts humbled and honored at the eclectic mix of talented artists joining us at Healing Appalachia to graciously and joyously share their musical gifts that will bring people together in empathy, in love and in supportive action for one another during National Recovery Month,” says Dave Lavender, President for Hope in the Hills.

Man I’d both love to be there and would feel real guilty for popping some gummies beforehand and then sneaking out between sets to smoke a joint lmao

They do sell beer at this event, and you don’t have to be sober to go.

I have my tickets and cannot wait for this event!!! Such a worthy cause!

Stapleton must have been the “big fish” HA had been trying to catch and the reason it moved its the location 178 miles NW closer to a major airport (Lexington) and the west side of mountains.
That kind of jives with a recent story about Stapleton canceling a couple shows after his equipment was damaged in transportation. He seems real particular of his gear and getting to remote Lewisburg would be too risky.
The first year we went to HA, we were going to borrow my in-laws RV. Driving over the mountains we joked the plates would have bursted out of the cabinets and busted with those narrow turns and steep slopes we traversed.

Many good summer festivals. But I never hear the FairWell Festival in Oregon mentioned. Tyler Childers and Sturgill Simpson headlining should be enough. Add in Sierra Ferrell, Charles Wesley Godwin, Brent Cobb, Kole Wetzel, Cody Jinks, Flatland Cavalry, Noeline Hofmann, Wyatt Flores and many more. Seems like a dream weekend for fans of this genre.

Well, it got it own dedicated article back in February when it was announced, and it was called the “best independent country lineup we’ve seen so far in 2025.”

That said, as reported back in 2023, this festival has also been responsible for putting a bunch of other festivals out of business, including now the Oregona Jamboree, which just announced 2025 will be its last year.

Ahh…I missed that article. But other than you, I really don’t see much in the press. And yes, might this be a chance to see TC & SS perform together? My over/under is 3 songs during the two days.

This will be my 4th time going to HA. I’d say the one disappointment has been the lack of collaborations like you used to see at Farm Aid.
Artists seemed to perform and get out of dodge. Maybe that was because of the remote location of the West Virginia Fairgrounds.
The only collaboration I recall (not on the late night stage) was Phil Lesh and Tyler Childers. And Lesh performed right before Childers that night.
Two years ago we went all three nights and only saw Tyler during his set. I get the impression he comes in the last night, performs, goes home. He doesn’t do press or kick off the event with a perforce like Willie does/did at Farm Aid.
So, I’ll set line at .5 and take the under. But never say never.
