Tyler Childers to Headline Inaugural “Whizzbangers Ball”

WhizzbangBAM! isn’t just an onomatopoeia. It happens to be the management and booking company behind Tyler Childers, along with a host of other important artist from the Kentucky, West Virginia, and greater Appalachian region. This also includes Arlo McKinley, John R. Miller, William Matheny, Joslyn & The Sweet Compression, Abby Hamilton, Jeremy Short, and Buffalo Wabs & The Price Hill Hustle among others.
These artists and more make up the inaugural lineup of the Wizzbangers Ball set to take place at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in Glen Jean, West Virginia June 14th and 15th. It’s the same location where the international Boy Scout Jamboree happens, which means there are plenty of amenities such as bathhouses and wifi for attendees to take advantage of, as well as ziplining, whitewater rafting, archery, rock climbing, and other outdoor experiences.
Tyler Childers will headline it all, with the side project of his backing band called El Dorado playing as well. It comes at a time when Tyler Childers is selling out arenas left and right, but tickets still remain for the more intimate and involved event. Of The Dell and Tommy Prine kick off the festival on Friday, June 14th.
Along with the Whizzbanger’s Ball, Whizzbang is also a big part of the Huntington Music and Arts Fest each Labor Day week in Huntington, WV, as well as the annual Healing Appalachia Festival in the fall.
Tickets are $150 for the weekend with parking and camping included. No single day tickets will be available. For more information and to purchase tickets, go to wizzbangersball.com.

Good for Tyler
will you at all be reviewing Zayn Malik’s new album which was produced by dave cobb

Does anyone consider it country or roots? I did see some chatter of folks saying Zayn was “going country” simply because he recorded in Nashville with Dave. But it doesn’t sound country to me, doesn’t appear that’s how it’s being sold, and Cobb has worked in other genres for many years. I just talked about Cobb producing a rock record for Jesse Welles in the previous article to this one.

Zach sang called it r&b folk on his podcast and Zayn didn’t push back on it
If you don’t want to review it that’s okay
