Upcoming Tours For Hellbound Glory, Lucky Tubb
Well the country is finally starting to thaw from the double arctic blast of a few weeks back, some to get another blast all over again, others to see green buds peek out from under the brown, birds fluttering on thawing branches, young ladies basking their pallid skin in the inviting warmth, and for me, the non-stop lovemaking of an infestuous pair of raccoons living in the crawl space under my house. Yes Spring is beginning to sprung, in some places at least, and as highways are reopened and paroles lifted, the great mass of musicians get ready once again to hit the open road.
Of greatest importance to Saving Country Music, this includes the 2010 Album of the Year winner Hellbound Glory, and fast-rising neo-traditionalist Lucky Tubb & his Modern Day Troubadours. Full tours have just been announced from Road Bound Booking (see dates below), as well as additional dates for Wayne “The Train” Hancock & Bob Wayne. (See full Road Bound Booking calendar).
You can find all of these dates as well on the Saving Country Music Calendar, which has been very adequately saved from the depths of neglect by Gillian The Benevolent Calender Goddess. Right now the Google calendar system is the best thing for keeping people informed and from missing concert dates. You can use them to view dates, or if you want to be more involved, you can set up your own Google calendar to add dates with a click. We will continue to try to do everything we can to keep you informed about concerts here in this post-MySpace Apocalypse environment!
More dates could be added to either tour.

Hellbound Glory…St. Pete. The Friday after I get back from Austin.
WooHoo!
February 22, 2011 @ 9:35 am
Damnit, Hellbound Glory come south and it’s a week before a big trip I have planned…and it’s also a bit far south for me. At least I’ll be seeing them at Muddy Roots.
February 22, 2011 @ 9:35 am
I need to get to playing some Hellbound Glory on ninebullets radio to get the area familiar with them.
February 22, 2011 @ 9:40 am
Y’all should check out ninebullets radio if you have a chance. I’ve only been able to catch bits and pieces so far live.

Damn… I wish Hellbound Glory would come to PA!
February 22, 2011 @ 10:33 am
*blush*
February 22, 2011 @ 10:48 am
Somebody needs to tell people it’s ok to play in Connecticut specially eastern ct where i live. Shit come play @ my apartment if you want.
February 23, 2011 @ 2:15 pm
Someone needs to find interest in booking anyone in CT!!!! I have been looking and looking. I finally had a bite in New Have at the Cafe 9.. But now.. theres a new promoter and they haven’t answered any of my emails or calls. 🙁 So thats whats up with that! Sorry.
February 26, 2011 @ 8:39 am
Hey thanks for the reply. I could ask around and see if any venues in my area would be interested but mostly it’s all hardcore or punk out this way.Have you tried the EL N GEE Club in New London off the top of my head it’s the only place outside of Cafe 9 that I think might get a good draw.
February 22, 2011 @ 11:29 am
Damn, Lucky in Chicago the same night as TBP and Rachel. What are the chances of that. Damn the luck.
February 24, 2011 @ 10:06 pm
decisions, decisions…:-)
February 22, 2011 @ 12:03 pm
Damn. Unless I can pull something off at work, which is highly unlikely, I’ll have to miss the Hellbound Glory date at work.
It will be nice to see Lucky back through here again, though. He definitely hasn’t shied away from playing here.
February 22, 2011 @ 12:35 pm
Pretty sure I meant “in Lawrence” as opposed to “at work.” I doubt Hellbound Glory is gonna show up to my job to play a gig.
Glad I checked the Wayne Hancock dates too. I was planning on a 3 hour drive, now all I have to do is walk five blocks.
February 22, 2011 @ 2:01 pm
Of course they skip right over Richmond
February 23, 2011 @ 2:16 pm
Because there is no one Richmond that wants to hire any of our bands!!!! Believe me.. We have tried and tried and tried.. Sorry RIchmond.. Until a promoter contacts us.. theres nothing we can do. :*(
February 22, 2011 @ 4:27 pm
Hellbound Glory will be playing our FREE Rusty Knuckles Music showcase during SXSW on saturday March 19th at the Dirty Dog Bar – 505 East Sixth st. Austin, TX 78701 – (512) 236-9800
By all means, come on out and enjoy the bands. Showcase begins at high noon and we have $300 bucks worth of free PBR or Lonestar for everyone who shows up.
February 22, 2011 @ 4:51 pm
Good country music never comes to Spokane, WA. Fuckin’ Missoula would even be cool… Atleast III plays here most years.
February 22, 2011 @ 8:03 pm
Missoula IS fucking cool, but not enough band know it yet. Hellboud Glory has ties here though, and I guarantee they’ll be back up this way eventually. But I hear ya man, we are a little out-of-the-way up here.
February 22, 2011 @ 5:46 pm
I swear I’m a gonna make it to Austin one day
where all the honky tonks play that good ole Texas swing
February 23, 2011 @ 1:43 am
PICK ME UP ON YOUR WAY DOWN!!!
February 23, 2011 @ 7:21 am
10-4 good buddy 🙂
February 23, 2011 @ 5:20 am
No shows in around Orlando, Fl. Or Daytona Beach, no surprise
February 23, 2011 @ 1:00 pm
Well there’s likely more dates from Hellbound Glory coming, and they will be in Florida with empty dates, so maybe there’s reason for optimism!
February 23, 2011 @ 2:19 pm
There is a date for Will’s Pub in Orlando.. Daytona.. the one guy that booked any of our bands. is no longer doing it! and again.. Until someone reaches out to us.. there is nothing we can do. Booking the South is THE hardest to book. Even for Wayne Hancock who draws. Most promoters offer like .. 30% of the door.. if that.. and if they even get back to us. Ahh the game of booking.
February 23, 2011 @ 2:30 pm
Any chance of a Knoxville date? Would be perfect between the NC and Cookeville shows for Hellbound Glory…..
February 23, 2011 @ 5:22 pm
Knoxville is another tough spot.
February 23, 2011 @ 6:29 am
MARCH 27TH Hellbound Glory with LoneWolf Orlando Will’s Pub. They are also doing a SCM-LIVE spot. Stay tuned!
February 23, 2011 @ 9:57 am
So glad to see The Green Lantern in Lexington,KY book these shows. It a great place to play, and to just hang. Louisville,Bowling Green, and Owensboro need to step the hell up and support the twang.
February 23, 2011 @ 5:25 pm
We’re used to being assed out on anything except III , the Rev., Unknown, DAC , Scott Biram , Shack Shakers, and many old legends play the deep south. The new blood usually don’t
February 23, 2011 @ 5:29 pm
Will be at Muddy Roots regardless.
February 24, 2011 @ 10:01 pm
Gonna catch Wayne the Train and Lucky in March here in Circleville, OH. But damn, we sure could use some Hellbound Glory! Just got my “Scumbag Country” cd and it kicksass. I like it every bit as much as “Old Highs & New Lows”, I sure hope to catch’em “LIVE” sometime soon! Thanks Triggerman, I don’t think I would have found some of these great bands without this site! WoooofuckinHoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
February 26, 2011 @ 7:40 am
Triggerman, I would love to see Hellbound Glory and/or Lucky Tubb live. I would love to go to Muddy Roots, but it’s simply impossible for me to get away from my job at that time. So it would be great for me, and surely a lot more people over here in Europe, to know when artists you write about on SCM, plan to tour Europe.
Those artists have friends over here too, like Bob Wayne sings about the Dutch girls, and last time I saw Bob, I also saw some Hellbound Glory-tshirts in the audience. From the reactions on this blog I’ve learned that it’s hard for a real country music-fan to live in Spokane, I can tell you that it’s at least as hard, or even harder to live in Nijmegen, Holland.
February 26, 2011 @ 11:05 pm
Michiel,
Certainly, I completely understand and appreciate how many people come to this site and are fans of these bands from Europe. The idea with the calendar is to cover certain core artists, and post ALL dates, foreign and domestic, and whenever I can announce tours, I will certainly do that. I honestly do not do a ton of tour announcements, unless it is for something special. For example, Hellbound Glorry does not tour much in the east of the US.
Also I honestly think that you folks in Holland may have more opportunities to see the bands I cover than anyone in any specific part of the US. That may not be true with Hellbound Glory specifically yet, but I think eventually they will be there, because as I always say, Europe supports these bands better than the US.
