Wayne “The Train” Hancock Announces New Album “Slingin’ Rhythm”
The King of Juke Joint Swing Wayne “The Train” Hancock will release his newest album called Slingin’ Rhythm on October 28th via Bloodshot Records. Produced by Lloyd Maines, it finds Wayne Hancock reprising his signature sound that mixes elements of country, Western swing, rockabilly, and blues in a neotraditional style.
A new Wayne Hancock album is like a gift from the country music gods; the same gods that bestowed upon him the capacity to be the closest living thing you can find to Hank Williams today according to Hank Williams III who famously covered multiple Hancock songs early in his career. Yet Hancock remains a wholly unique artist who finds himself in the exclusive ranks of true music originators who’ve germinated their own genres and genealogy trees full of new artists inspired by their work.
Wayne Hancock writes all of his own material, and Slingin’ Rhythm takes stories from his own trials and tribulations both on the road where he plays an average of 200 dates a year, and at home where like the rest of us, he struggles to capture a sense of domestic equilibrium.
Slingin’ Rhythm is now available for pre-order, and the title track can be heard below.

Good stuff!!! You gotta love this guy, he goes in the studio with his band, sets up like a live show, and has an album recorded in a weekend! That’s how Wayne rolls, minimal budget yet somehow manages to create great records. And all independent of the trashville machine. That’s how you do it boys and girls!

It was already on Spotify as of yesterday, fantastic album, must have been an accidental release. They took it down, but I listened to it and was very impressed, going to pre-order now.
