Zach Bryan Puts Money Where His Mouth Is For “Burn, Burn, Burn” Tour

There’s talk, and then there’s action. Zach Bryan has made a lot of noise about how he’s tired of seeing his hard-working fans get filched by the ticketing monopoly that is TicketBastard, and promised a few weeks ago upon the release of his live Red Rocks album All My Homies Hate Ticketmaster that he would actively work to buck the system. Well now he’s laid out his plans, and the tour dates they will impact.
In a glorious fashion, Zach Bryan released a video Thursday (1-19) starring redneck comic Theo Von and his mullet, explaining how everything is going to go down. This includes that tickets will start at $40, and won’t be more expensive than $130 for the most premium seats. Service fees will only be between $10 to $20.
AXS is the company that will be facilitating the ticket sales, and no tickets will be able to be resold for profit. They also promise to scrub all sales from scalpers and bots through the process. If the purchaser needs to resell their tickets, they can only do so through the AXS system, and they can only be sold at the original ticket price. There will also be a 4-ticket limit for each individual purchase, and a 2-ticket limit at Red Rocks. Any tickets seen on any other platform should be considered fraudulent.
Though all of this is great, fans still need to understand that there will be a finite amount of tickets, and being able to purchase these tickets is not guaranteed. Registered fans will be randomly selected for the chance to purchase tickets to each show. If selected, they will begin receiving emails on February 13th with purchase information. Fans must register at www.axs.com/zachbryan for the opportunity to purchase tickets.
These rules only apply to Zach Bryan headlining shows that allow the AXS ticketing format, so a few venues will be excluded, as well as festival and rodeo appearances.
Looking over the dates, there are a lot of arenas on this tour, with Red Rocks being one of the smaller venues. If you wanted to see Zach Bryan in a smaller venue, you had your chance over the last few years. Now, supply is such that there’s no other choice, but these larger venues should allow for more fans to gain access to the Zach Bryan live experience.
Don’t be surprised if additional dates are added at certain venues if demand outpaces supply. This very well could happen, because Zach Bryan’s popularity only continues to increase.
A few weeks ago Zach Bryan reached another landmark as “Something In The Orange” officially became a #1 song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. The track had hit #1 multiple times on the Country Top Streaming Songs previously. Then this week, “Something In The Orange” made its debut in the Top 10 of the all genre Billboard Hot 100. That’s right, Zach Bryan isn’t just one of the most popular artists in all of country, he’s now one of the most popular artists in all of music.
By implementing this ticketing plan, Zach Bryan is taking a leadership position in tackling the Ticketmaster monopoly. What he is doing is unprecedented, but fans should also understand that there may be some bumps in the road, and there’s still no guarantee they will get tickets. But clearly Zach Bryan isn’t just talking about taking on Ticketmaster, he’s trying to create a template that perhaps other artists in the future can also use to circumvent the monopoly.

Your move, T-Swift. Money where ya mouth is.
January 19, 2023 @ 8:15 pm
London, ON, CA unfortunately is not listed as and AXS event when I just looked to register. But, hopefully Zach will be able to make the kind of difference that shows the way to break greedy monopolies.
January 20, 2023 @ 12:33 am
I was just able to register for this show but it says tickets won’t be available through AXS cause we don’t have that in Canada. We will be redirected to the venue website to make the purchase.
January 20, 2023 @ 9:34 am
Yes, that is what I thought I had indicated in my comment (that it is not an AXS event) and as Trigger indicated in his article, if not an AXS event, then the protections are not applicable. Too bad AXS is not possible for London, ON, Canada.
January 19, 2023 @ 8:21 pm
I appreciate his efforts. Hope it is a success.
January 19, 2023 @ 9:28 pm
I wish AXS would make this regular practice. They’re just as bad as Ticketmaster.
January 19, 2023 @ 9:51 pm
I wouldn’t call Theo Von a “redneck comic.” He’s in the same vein as Mitch Hedburg as far as being random, whimsical and creatively hilarious. Easily one of the best comics working today. His podcasts are always hysterical.
January 19, 2023 @ 9:57 pm
Zach deserves 100% credit for righting the wrongs here by naming names and doing something about it.
January 19, 2023 @ 10:01 pm
AXS is just as big as a fucking joke as Ticketmaster is.
January 23, 2023 @ 8:32 am
They sure were for Turnpike’s Red Rocks shows
January 19, 2023 @ 10:15 pm
This will fail.
Zach Bryan and AXS don’t have the fortitude or resources to sustain this model. Look at the cities he’s playing. He can’t go into cities that are monopolized by Ticketmaster/ LiveNation venues. And he’s already spazzing out on fans 3 hours after the announcement:
“Here’s what you guys need to know, for the love of God, don’t overthink it and complain about forty different things. This is the first time anyone’s doing anything like this so have some grace.”
AXS doesn’t have the infrastructure to handle the demand. Fans couldn’t get registered, site kept crashing, and a lot of confusion about the overall process over ran social media today.
I applaud Bryan for trying, but many bigger artists with better resources have tried and failed.
January 19, 2023 @ 10:29 pm
We’ll see. People have weeks to sign up. It’s not like if they couldn’t sign up today, they will miss their opportunity for tickets.
To me, the biggest concern is that demand will still outlast supply, and people still won’t be able to get tickets. That continues to be the fundamental issue in all of these instances. And if fans can’t get tickets, they’ll blame the company selling them, because for some reason, they don’t understand supply/demand.
January 20, 2023 @ 4:33 pm
Not here to defend ticketmaster, just hoping someone with better knowledge can explain it to me. It seems in situations like these, or in a bigger scale Swift, where demand far outpaces supply that it’s natural prices will rise to what the market can bear, with seats going to more or less the highest bidder. What’s Ticketmaster’s role in this? Letting profiteers scoop up the face value tickets early? Charging fees?
It’s an interesting idea to change access from “highest bidder” to “first in line”. I’ll be interested to see how it goes, and if it indeed makes it easier for regular people to get tickets. It seems to me that it will be a hard struggle against the mighty forces of capitalism.
January 20, 2023 @ 4:51 pm
Unfortunately, reporters on this matter are too quick to validate frustrated fans concerns as opposed to trying to explain the realities of the situation. Ticketmaster is a horrible corrupt monopoly that is screwing over consumers. But the fact remains that if there are more fans than tickets, not everyone is going to get one. This isn’t just capitalism or supply/demand, this is probability and statistics. So even though I hate Ticketmaster as much as anyone, people need to understand the realities here, because even if Zach Bryan locks out all bots and scalpers, there supply/demand quotient is still in play.
February 16, 2023 @ 3:22 pm
A lot of “All My Homies Hate AXS” and communist comments in that Zach Bryan Instagram post today. No one seems happy if not even getting a chance a tickets. The old way cost more (Ticketmaster), but at least fans willing to spend $ had a chance at tickets. A disaster.
February 16, 2023 @ 4:24 pm
Yep. I did see he added some new dates, which will help somewhat. But the only way to truly solve this problem is to increase supply.
February 16, 2023 @ 6:26 pm
I totally agree with you. And what venue wouldn’t want ZB for a 3-4 night stand.
January 20, 2023 @ 6:43 am
Just like Ticketmaster crashed for those trying to buy Swift tickets, and they’re the market leader. AXS aren’t as small time as you may think. They were the ticket agent for the Madonna dates here in the U.K. and my sister managed to get hers today without a problem.
January 19, 2023 @ 10:32 pm
Hey trigger, did you see Easton Corbin released a new album? I’m hoping you review it, but to me it sounds as if George Strait decided to sing Jason Aldean songs with lazy list songs. In my opinion it’s not the best album ever but not the worst ever.
January 19, 2023 @ 10:41 pm
Had not heard anything about him releasing a new album. I’ll check it out.
January 20, 2023 @ 3:08 am
I believe its a compilation trigger, a round up of the tracks and ep’s he has put out over the past couple of years. Thats what I believe anyway.
January 20, 2023 @ 4:49 am
Is it? Seemed new to me. I could be wrong. Idk Easton Corbin has always seemed like George Strait light to me so I’ve always listened to Strait instead.
January 20, 2023 @ 6:41 am
The Ryman Auditorium uses AXS and I’ve always had good enough luck. Set prices (not that fluctuating inflation). Like others have said, good on ZB for trying.
January 20, 2023 @ 8:10 am
I love the effort he is putting in for fans, might have to look into going to a show. I’ve always had a good experience with AXS and this just shows Zach is not just in it for the money.
January 20, 2023 @ 8:16 am
Anyone who thumbs their nose at TIcketmaster has my support.
January 20, 2023 @ 10:58 am
“Service fees will only be between $10 to $20.”
This seems about average. Bought Eric Church tickets this week. They are $30 face value and after fees they came out to like $45.
January 23, 2023 @ 8:36 am
50% fees being the norm is so insane
January 20, 2023 @ 11:55 am
I’m going to see Jonathan Richman in March. I think it was 60 for two tickets including fees. I’m going to be within 20 feet from the stage, and I doubt there will be anyone singing along and/or crying the whole time! Hope all the ZB fans get tickets and it all goes well. Honestly he should copy the short run tours that Mumford and Sons did, his fanbase is similar and they went and played these weird theaters and towns outside the normal areas and it was pretty successful.
January 20, 2023 @ 5:06 pm
I once walked into the coffee house on Stanford campus and Jonathan Richman was playing an unannounced concert and it was free and he was there right in front of me. Beat that! 🙂
January 20, 2023 @ 5:28 pm
Was working the stage at the Jeff Beck/Johnny Depp show, in October. Does that count?
On a serious note, feel grateful for having seen, & being mesmerized by Jeff Beck’s talent
January 21, 2023 @ 4:45 pm
Pretty darn close!
January 21, 2023 @ 3:50 pm
That sounds crazy! I read this really interesting article about JRs time living in Maine, apparently he never does interviews and he would only do it through email because he didn’t want anything he said to be misquoted. What a legend! The closest I can come to topping that was sitting on the base of a lighting rig right in front of the stage with Robert Earl Keens band watching Richard Thompson absolutely crush a solo set. I was right next to Rich Brotherton and we were all totally captivated.
January 21, 2023 @ 4:44 pm
As much as I like him and agree that he’s a legend, I’d trade you my Richman for your Thompson any day of the week. In my book, to be in the same league with RT you’d have to have a last name that sounds something like Dylan, Young, Mitchell, Van Zandt or Nelson (yeah, Crosby would do too, may he rest in peace).
January 25, 2023 @ 12:10 am
It was awesome working at live oak (Santa Barbara) my uncle is a local legend on gypsy jazz and bluegrass fiddle and he got me working the back stage. Talked to Joe Ely for a minute, had Arlo Guthrie, Peter Rowan, Tony Rice, Robert Earl Keen, RT, and a bunch more roll through. D’Gary, Corey Harris, Kelly Joe Phelps, I forget what else. I’ve lived a lucky life and I am going to play Blue Yodel #9 and get the hell offline!
January 20, 2023 @ 12:37 pm
I may not be a big fan of his music but I am a fan of him as a person. So refreshing to see an artist buck the system and try to do right by their fans when they could just go along to get along. He also seems to be a great role model for young men which is something this country desperately needs.
January 20, 2023 @ 6:26 pm
Out of curiosity I went onto Eric’s Ticketmaster page today because I saw her added a second show at the Gorge. So I went onto see what was left of the first and it’s ALL RED RESALE SEATS. ridiculous.
January 20, 2023 @ 10:48 pm
Bought an American Aquarium ticket today. $25 plus $5 service fee for the best damn live band in the world. But yeah I am totally driving 10 hours round trip and sleeping in the back of my 19-year-old kid’s Tacoma if he scores Zach Bryan tickets for the Nampa show.
January 21, 2023 @ 7:04 pm
AA is awesome. Seeing them again next week in Key West.
January 23, 2023 @ 6:14 pm
what songs is he playing anybody know??
February 16, 2023 @ 12:38 pm
As with all other artists who tried this, it has only backfired. Prices on the secondary market are triple what they were last go around when he left ticketing alone. By making it harder for fans to get tickets, he has also made it more expensive.
