Billy Strings Sets 1st Live Album, New Tour Dates

Seeing bluegrass phenom Billy Strings live is one of the modern marvels of the universe. It’s is an other-worldly, enrapturing experience that words fail to convey the power of. All the more reason to permanently affix that experience to vinyl and allow people in the present and future to get as close to divinity as possible without being there.
After signing with Reprise Records, Billy Strings promised we would be seeing ample live releases for the foreseeable future since live is really the place his music is best expressed as opposed to the studio. Sometimes you see a “Vol. 1” from an artist and roll your eyes, knowing a “Vol. 2” may never materialize. For someone like Billy Strings, we may be talking about “Vol. 20” in the future.
But for now, the 2CD/2LP Billy Strings Live Vol. 1 will be heading to shelves and streaming on July 12. Along with the normal course of offerings, the album will also be available via Red and Black Splatter vinyl via billystrings.com, translucent red vinyl via Spotify, and translucent blue vinyl in local record stores.

What will the track list be? That’s apparently part of the fun. As opposed to revealing it to us, folks will be tasked to guess what it is starting on July 1st. Those who guess correctly can win prizes, including one that will be free Billy Strings tickets for life.
Meanwhile, if you want to see and hear Billy Strings in the flesh, you just got many more opportunities. Recently, Strings announced a very exclusive set opening up the 2024 Telluride Bluegrass Festival on June 20th with Chris Thile. Strings has probably outgrown a festival the size of Telluride Bluegrass, but he also likes to give fans opportunities to see him in more intimate settings upon occasion.
Folks in Austin, TX will also get a similar opportunity when he plays the Moody Theatre on December 13th. It’s part of a new string of fall/winter tour dates just announced (see below). Tickets for the new dates will be available through general sale Friday, June 14. Pre-sale starts Wednesday, June 12. Visit www.billystrings.com, for more details.

Please keep TBF out of your comments. Billy Strings belongs there and anyone who thinks it’s about size please don’t show up.

What on earth are you talking about?

I was able to preorder one of the limited editions, then got into a playful argument with a friend over nugs.net, which I also have a subscription. He’s not into physical releases but as a low-level vinyl collector myself, I’m happy I got this one before it sold out, which it sold out by this morning (the limited edition version). I’m sure my enthusiasm will go down if it does start getting into multiple volumes since everything is available on nugs.
