Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion Announces 2021 Lineup
Tis’ the season, and the opportunity as the COVID-19 pandemic era comes to a close to start thinking about music festivals once again, and one of the biggest in the roots community has just announced its full 2021 lineup, and it’s a doozy.
Boasting headliners such as Blackberry Smoke, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Tanya Tucker, Yola, The Steedrivers, Rhonda Vincent, and Hayes Carl, The 20th Annual Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion to be held September 10-12 near the birthplace of country music in Bristol, TN/VA has one of the best lineups released for the upcoming festival season so far.
The undercard is not too shabby either, with notable names such as Charley Crockett, The Steel Woods, Ian Noe, Morgan Wade, 49 Winchester, The Wooks, Kelsey Waldon, and a bunch of other good ones making the 2021 lineup (see full lineup below).
“We worked hard to keep our lineup as consistent as we could with the lineup we had hoped to have at last year’s cancelled event, but the pandemic forced us to make some difficult decisions,” says Leah Ross of the fest. “The music and tourism industries have been hit hard by COVID-19, and our Downtown businesses are struggling to survive. We hope our festival provides a boost to Bristol’s economy to help get us back on track.”
There will be 13 outdoor stages along with indoor venues utilized over the 3-day weekend. Passes are $100 bucks. More information and tickets, CLICK HERE.

This can’t be a good forecast for ticket sales.
Zero fanfare/excitement.
What gives ?

Arnold, thats a strange take. Bristol Roots has never been about the current top 40 radio names. Its a festival for folks who are anti country radio. They will do just fine. That lineup will bring plenty of fanfare and people. Tanya Tucker, The Steeldrivers, Blackberry Smoke, Isbell , Rhonda Vincent are all headliner acts. Believe it or not, there are many people who choose these type of festivals over more radio friendly mainstream festivals. In fact this particular festival won the Ameripolitan Award for festival of the year, last time. You come to SCM regularly , Trig writes about all these artists, so i know youve heard of them. Do you ever venture outside the world of Jon Pardi and Blake Shelton???

Well the article was up for hours yesterday, & no one had commented, which I thought was odd.

On another note, I still have a Mile 0 fest ticket going cheap. I’l put it on stubhub soon, but I thought I’d offer here first (and 2nd).
Di Harris, still interested?

Blackh4t, if you are stuck a week from now you can send to me and I could try to sell for you when I am there. It would probably be at a substantial discount at that point but maybe someone will pay semi-close to face value. Would use Venmo to get you the funds. We can discuss off-line if you reply to this and are interested and give me a way to contact you. We don’t know each other but this is a trustworthy community! I just got my wristband so you probably did too.

Hey, thanks, that would be great, if no-one from here wants it, I’ll get in contact.
The ticket is will-call, so no wristbands. I think just have to email them and tell them you will be picking it up.
I’ll reply with contact details if nothing happens in a day.
Enjoy the festival.

Did you check out that Facebook group I referred you to? I see folks looking for and selling tickets on there all the time.

Thanks Trigger, I try to avoid using Facebook. I know its easy, but i haven’t forgiven them for many sins.

Its the $500 beach bum ticket. They’re still available so i can only ask $350.
Trigger, is there any way you can pass on my email? I don’t like putting contact details in a public comment.

Hey Blackh4t!
Very interested.
The hold up is – if they decide to enforce a mask mandate, i will suffocate, this time of year.
Glad Rusty is thinking about it.
I think several of us are wishing you big luck on this.
Please let us know what happens …
None of us want to see you have to eat that ticket

You guys (and ladies) are sweet.
Its fine, not worried for me. i just want to see it go to a good home. I’d give it away to the right person if it helps.
I need to work out how we can communicate without leaving contact details online.

Rhythm and roots 2017 was the best lineup and best experience of my life. I went alone because I couldn’t find a companion but I couldn’t miss it either. This is a special little festival. Rodney Crowell couldn’t make it so they got RWH to fill in. I saw Dwight, I saw Tyler Childers, I saw colter wall twice, American aquarium, and I cannot even remember the rest.

So hoping for an Amanda Shires on stage reunion with her old band Thriftstore Cowboys. One of the most underrated bands to ever come outta West Texas. check them out.
