AmericanaFest in Nashville has just added an additional 52 names to their already massive 2018 lineup, swelling the total amount of announced performers to 225. The latest wave of announcements might include some of the biggest names of the festival so far.
Get ready for new music coming from Canadian folk country singer and songwriter Colter Wall, who will release his much-anticipated sophomore full-length album Songs of the Plains via Thirty Tigers. Said to be a full dive into the inspiration of his home of the Saskatchewan prairie, Colter writes 7 of the new album’s 11 songs.
“That pissed me off,” Church says patently. “To me, lip-syncing is and always will be a red line. It’s fabricated. I don’t want young artists thinking it’s OK, because it’s not … So the winner of the biggest category of the night lip-synced in the biggest moment on the show? Fuck that! And I didn’t like his excuse at all.”
True country fans will have to wait a little bit longer to hear the debut record from Kentucky traditionalist Dillon Carmichael after it was announced the release will be delayed due to undisclosed reasons. The Dave Cobb-produced ‘Hell On An Angel’ was originally slated to be released on August 17th, 2018 on Riser House.

Willie Nelson’s 2018 4th of July Picnic in Austin, TX was disrupted by heavy thunderstorms that moved through the area on Wednesday, resulting in cancellations in numerous performances.
