The country music legend suffered a mild stroke on May 5th, 2017, which required her to cancel her upcoming performances, and delay the release of the album.

An oral history on the life of songwriting legend Billy Joe Shaver is on the way. Called ‘Live Forever: The Songwriting Legacy of Billy Joe Shaver,’ it will be about Shaver’s life and songs told through his peers, friends, and disciples like Ray Wylie Hubbard, Dale Watson, James McMurtry, Scott H. Biram, Dallas Moore, and Jessi Colter.

The Willie Nelson camp has released the particulars for the 33rd Annual Farm Aid benefit concert, this year taking place September 22nd in Connecticut at the Xfinity Arena in Hartford. This will be the first time the longest-running concert for a cause in America will be held in Connecticut, which is home to 6,000 farms.

Cody Jinks has been taken to the hospital after attempting to play a show on Friday night (6-22) at the SumTur Amphitheater in Papillion, Nebraska near Omaha, and was unable to perform after complaining of dizziness. He was taken away from the venue in an ambulance according to concertgoers.

The Americana Music Association has just announced an additional 99 artists to go with the previously-announced 74 artists that have been selected to perform at the 2018 AmericanaFest. This brings the total of announced performers to 173 of what will eventually swell to some 250.
Whether there’s any need for panic among fans and artists who are part of the new reshuffle remains to be seen, but it is certainly something to keep an eye on. Often these label reshuffles are enacted with the best of intentions, and the devil is ultimately is in the details.

The deal means Cody Johnson is now part of one of the biggest label groups in country music, but still retains a certain level of control.

Now the initial sales numbers have been tabulated, and it has sold through better than any of the band’s records previously.
Garth Brooks has a new single on the way called “All Day Long” that will be debuting on radio stations on Tuesday, June 19th, as well as a new song called “The Road I’m On” that will also be made available to fans who pre-order his next album.
