Charley Crockett Releases New Tour Dates w/ Killer Openers

This story has been updated (see below).
Charley Crockett is one of the hardest working men in country music, and he is continuing his relentless touring schedule by heading out West, and then making his way back east to close out 2021. He’s also bringing along some great openers that are worth seeing all by themselves.
Joining Charley Crockett on tour will be Joshua Ray Walker, who has been opening multiple dates for Crockett already, Summer Dean who will be playing select dates in December and January, and both Vincent Neil Emerson and Lucas Hudgins will also open on specific dates. Elijah Ocean has also been added to some dates. Walker, Ocean, Summer Dean, and Vincent Neil Emerson have all released critically-acclaimed new records this year.
An important note here: multiple dates previously announced by Charley Crockett in certain cities have been cancelled. It was recently announced that Crockett signed to the big booking agency CAA after previously being signed to Red 11, which specializes more in Texas and Red Dirt artists. It’s not 100% certain if that has to do with the cancellations, but in the interest of keeping you up to speed on his calendar changes, here are the dates that have been cancelled:
Nov 26 – White Oak Music Hall – Houston, TX – Cancelled
Dec 30 – The Criterion – Oklahoma City, OK – Cancelled
Dec 31 – The Granada – Lawrence, KS – Cancelled
Jan 1 – Bourbon Theatre – Lincoln, NE – Cancelled
UPDATE: Due to confirmed cases of COVID-19, Charley Crockett has had to cancel the following shows as well:
Nov 5 – Crescent Ballroom – Phoenix, AZ $
Nov 6 – Orpheum Theater – Flagstaff, AZ $
Nov 8 – Strummer’s – Fresno, CA #
Nov 9 – Speakeasy Bar and Grill – Bakersfield, CA #
Charley Crockett has been on a tear lately. His recently-released album Music City U.S.A. just spent a whopping six weeks atop the Americana music radio charts, and still sits at #2 this week. Word is spreading, some of the live shows are already sold out, others will be shortly. So make sure you’re on top of it.
TOUR DATES:
Jan 6 & 7 – MusicFest – Steamboat Springs, CO
$ – Elijah Ocean
# – Joshua Ray Walker
+ – Lucas Hudgins
^ – Summer Dean
* – Vincent Neil Emerson

Crap, he’s coming to Seattle this month?
I already have too much on my schedule to go see him, but the indy country stars usually don’t come up here.
And Joshua Ray Walker opening for him at that.

I truly hate the Showbox SoDo, may try and go though.

Just a quick update: Elijah Ocean was just added to the dates in Phoenix and Flagstaff. Apparently Joshua Ray Walker is feeling under the weather, but is planning to meet back up with the tour in California.

And now a second update. Charley Crockett just had to cancel four shows due to positive Covid cases in his crew. Affected dates above.

Boy is scared of New England?
Sick of country artists just playing down south.

I’m with you on this, seems most country artists don’t come North of Virginia or East of Ohio, sometimes Pittsburgh.
However, you did just miss Charley Crockett. He played a handful of Northeast cities in early-mid September.

Saw him with Brennen Leigh in Cleveland. Great opener, amazing show

Saw them in Wichita, and they were both great. There weren’t a ton of people there either, so I was able to stand right next to the stage. The Blue Drifters are super talented musicians.

I saw him in September, Lucas Hudgins was opening. It was a good crowd, mix of college kids and old guys in cowboy boots and hats with a sprinkling of actual kids running around, women chasing after them. Honky-tonk Moses came out and I hadn’t heard of him before and I liked what I could hear. He’s definitely got the beard to match the name and the songs too.
Crockett came out and all the young people went wild! Knew all the words to the songs, even some off the album that had come out a day or two before. Surprised the hell out of me. I figured half of them were there just from being starved for live music over the pandemic. Not the case, they were all fans from the looks of things.
Crockett’s band, The Blue Drifters, was really impressive. Especially the pedal steel player who played for Hudgins and Crockett’s sets and Kullen Fox who did a hell of a job on keys, trumpet, accordion and I think I even saw him with a mandolin during the encore. Lot of talent up there.
It was a great, high energy show. Mostly his bigger songs and stuff off the new album and the James Hand tribute album. I did here them do “Harlem River Blues” and when he first asked the crowd if they wanted to hear any Justin Townes Earle and they enthusiastically agreed it was a nice feeling.
Really a good time and probably the last time I’ll see him from that close up for that cheap ($14, standing room only, small indoor venue) so catch him while you can.

Awww man The Regency Ballroom SUCKS as a venue. It”s like a high school prom gym. Saw Blackberry Smoke there and the sound is awful. Too bad it’s Not The Great American Music Hall or Freight And Salvage.
I may have to scuttle down to Monterey.
