Country Artist Creed Fisher Injured in Hit-and-Run Motorcycle Accident
Country artist Creed Fisher was seriously injured after being involved in a hit-and-run motorcycle accident on August 10th in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota, near St. Cloud. Fisher was scheduled to play a show at Rollie’s on August 10th in Sauk Rapids when the accident occurred. Fisher is currently in the hospital in St. Cloud recovering from the injuries.
According to fellow country music artist Jesse Keith Whitley and others, Creed Fisher suffered a collapsed lung, which doctors were able to fix. However, he also suffered multiple broken fingers, severe road rash, as well as a pelvis injury that requires Fisher to have surgery on Tuesday (8-13).
Since the accident was characterized as a hit-and-run, Saving Country Music reached out to the local Sheriff’s department to see if the suspect was still at large. According to Benton County Sheriff Troy Heck, they do know the suspect’s identity, but are not sharing it publicly at this time per Minnesota law as the investigation continues.
According to a statement from Sheriff Troy Heck about the accident:
Investigating deputies determined that prior to the crash, Fisher had been at a residence in rural Benton County with friends. Deputies learned Fisher left the residence with two other men, Kyle Michael Crone … and another man Fisher had only me that day … the three men were intent on driving to Rollie’s … and the man whom Fisher had met that day volunteered to guide Fisher and Crone to the bar. The investigation revealed that immediately prior to the crash, the man leading the group had gone ahead of Fisher and Crone, causing them to lose sight of this driver.
Fisher and Crone reported that as they continued on their route, they rounded a curve and saw the third man stopped in the roadway on his motorcycle a short distance ahead. Fisher and Crone reported slowing down as they approached the third man who was still stopped in the roadway. As Fisher maneuvered to drive around the third man to the left, the man abruptly turned his motorcycle to the left and moved into the path of Fisher’s motorcycle. Fisher was unable to avoid the man’s motorcycle, resulting in the collision that caused Fisher’s injuries.
The third man attempted to get Fisher up off the ground, but Fisher was unable to get up due to the injuries. Fisher and Crone told deputies that this third man then fled the scene of the accident on foot. Police officers searched for the third driver at the time of the crash but were unable to locate him. Subsequent investigation has resulted in deputies establishing the identity of the person believed to be the third driver. The investigation into this case is active and on-going.
Creed Fisher’s tour schedule is full through most of 2024. As soon as the details of his recovery and rehabilitation are known, an updated assessment of his tour dates will be given.
Creed Fisher is an Outlaw-style country artist that has created a large grassroots following without any help from the conventional country music industry. The prolific performer has released 13 albums since his debut in 2014, and tours constantly.
Originally from Odessa, TX, Creed Fisher was a minor league football player for nine years, while also working as an oil field technician for 20 years. After his marriage of 12 years dissolved and his football career came to an end, he found comfort and purpose in country music.

Geez, he was just playing Turf Club in Minneapolis on Aug 9th. Haven’t really listened to much of his music, but now wishing I would have went to show. Hope he can recover soon.

A correction: The Turf Club is in St. Paul, not Minneapolis.

Thanks for the correction. I have been to Turf Club, know it’s in St. Paul, yet I wrote Minneapolis. Just saw today that John R Miller is swinging through again in November.

Rough stretch for Creed. I had noticed he was posting a lot of pictures of his wife and family recently on social media. I had kind of jokingly thought to myself he must have made the misses angry and was trying to make up for it. Just a couple days ago he announced that he was quitting drinking and getting sober for his family. Something no doubt hard to do on the road.
I hope Creed recovers fully, and that this strange story from the Sheriff’s office was just a weird accident, and not a case of irresponsible behavior. Hope Creed is successful in his goal to clean up his personal life as well. Sometimes these things can be an eye opener in life.

The irresponsible behavior is the guy fleeing from the scene, especially when someone is severely injured. Accidents happen. It seems like when the suspect figured out how bad it was, he wanted no part of it. Maybe he knew he wouldn’t pass a drug/alcohol test, or maybe he just got scared. Either way, you stay and render aid as best you can.

Agree. Leaving the scene of an accident is no doubt irresponsible. I was referring more about the actions leading up to the accident. They said they had met the guy the same day, so who knows what his background may have been. He may have just been waiting for them to catch up and didn’t expect them to pass when he pulled out. Who knows why he fled. Panic, intoxication, past criminal history? Hard to tell with someone you just met.
Whatever the case, hope Creed is on the road to complete recovery.

I’m so sorry to hear this news! My 85yo mom and I were planning to see him next week at the Mystic in Petaluma, CA. Would setting up a GoFundMe campaign be helpful? Medical bills, loss of work etc add up … especially when they’re unexpected. I’m happy to spearhead the effort if y’all think its a good idea.
