Cross Canadian Ragweed to Reunite, Play Show in Oklahoma

This story has been updated.

The rumors are true. Legendary Red Dirt band Cross Canadian Ragweed is reuniting, and will be playing a show with fellow Oklahoma legends the Turnpike Troubadours at T Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater, OK on April 12th, 2025. This information was leaked out via a show poster on Tik-Tok Monday afternoon/evening (9-30) before spreading like wildfire across the internet. It comes as Cross Canadian Ragweed has been teasing a revelation in recent weeks.

The Great Divide, Jason Boland and the Stragglers, and Stoney LaRue will also play the stadium show titled “The Boys From Oklahoma.” Pre-sale will start October 7th, with public on-sale starting October 11th. To sign up for the presale, go to theboysfromoklahoma.com.

The original source of the leak appears to be the Tik-Tok handle @geoffinok. After they posted an image of the poster on Tik-Tok, it was screen grabbed and spread pervasively on Facebook. At the time of this post, one Facebook user had over 800 shares on Facebook of the poster. Saving Country Music was then able to confirm the authenticity of the information.

There is no confirmation at the moment if the show will lead to more shows or new music. However, Saving Country Music has learned through sources that more shows could be in the offing for the reunited version of the band.

The thing that sticks out the most to me about Ragweed was all the people that we met,” Cody Canada said in a press release Tuesday morning, confirming the concert. “People that I’m still friends with, from Portland, Oregon, to Ybor City, Florida, and from New York to San Diego. That’s why there’s a part of me that never wants to quit doing this. I’m nostalgic for that. I think that everybody should have a little nostalgia in their life.  So, let’s get together, and let’s make sure that we sound really good, and let’s make people smile. Let’s make ourselves smile, and let’s make McClure and Jason and Stoney and the Turnpike boys smile too.”

Earlier in September, Cross Canadian Ragweed began making cryptic posts on their website and social media that appeared to be their logo wrapped in red cloth and “2025.” It was the first sign of life we’d seen from the band after they officially disbanded in 2010. The most legendary lineup of the band included Cody Canada (lead guitar/vocals), Randy Ragsdale (drums), and Grady Cross (guitar), and Jeremy Plato (bass)—all of whom will return for the show.

Cody Canada currently fronts the band Cody Canada and the Departed with Jeremy Plato, which has been adding more Cross Canadian Ragweed songs to their repertoire over time. Canada says The Departed will continue even amid the Cross Canadian Ragweed reunification.

More information on the reunified Cross Canadian Ragweed when it becomes available.

Editor’s Note: Saving Country Music generally does not like to spoil surprises. But similar to the leaks involving the Turnpike Troubadours, if the information becomes pervasive on the internet and is already a matter of public record, it will be shared here as well.
