FairWell Festival Offers Excellent Inaugural Lineup

For whatever reason, Oregon has always been the place for the best summer festivals in the United States when it comes to independent country and roots music. Before dozens of festivals all across the country were even a thing, Pickathon out in Portland was booking folks like Dale Watson, Whitey Morgan, and Wayne “The Train” Hancock. Pickathon’s 2023 lineup should be coming any day now.
The Jackalope Jamboree in Pendleton, Oregon has become another Oregon staple over the last few years, and has another killer lineup this year June 22nd-24th with Ryan Bingham and Shane Smith and the Saints headlining, and other great artists like Corb Lund, Kaitlin Butts, Kelsey Waldon, and The Vandoliers performing.
Another Oregon festival that’s been killer over the years is the Wild Hare Festival in Canby, Oregon. Unfortunately, they’ve announced they won’t be back in 2023, but don’t count them out in future years. This on-again, off-again fest always has folks raving, and features great lineups.
But if that wasn’t enough, now Central Oregon will have their own country and roots festival, and it may have one of the best lineups of any independent country event all year. Called the FairWell Festival, they have just announced their inaugural lineup for their July 21-23 festival at the Deschutes County Fairgrounds in Redmond, Oregon. Headliners include Zach Bryan, the Turnpike Troubadours, and Willie Nelson.
Charles Wesley Godwin, Morgan Wade, Charley Crockett, Trampled By Turtles, Molly Tuttle and Golden Highway, Yola, Shane Smith and the Saints, 49 Winchester, Bella White, and Drayton Farley are some of the other names that make the inaugural FairWell Fest lineup.
Not only is the lineup killer, so is the location. This is the part of Oregon where Oregonians go on vacation, which tells you about the kinds of forests, high desert, mountains, vistas, and opportunities for exploration the area boasts.
Presale starts on Thursday, 3/16 at 10 am Pacific time. To sign up for the presale, CLICK HERE.

Turnpike, Gary Clark and the Stringdusters on the same night! Wow.

This is such a coup, great idea. One week after Under The Big Sky over in Montana. Basically taking the best of the undercard plus MT headliner Zach Bryan and adding Turnpike and Willie. Glad to see another outstanding PNW festival.

I thought it was fake when I heard rumors of the lineup last week. Originally the sunday headliner was supposed to be Tyler Childers. The craziest part is I am a 15min drive away from this fest. Gonna be awesome if this becomes an annual event!

Charley Crockett’s name is wayyyy to small on that poster.

That speaks to the depth of the lineup. This very well might be the best, or one of the best festival lineups all year.

Friends are already calling it “Bendchella” with the VIP viewing areas and platinum packages (very not Central Oregon) but I still bought my ticket. Can’t resist this lineup 30 min from home. And who would have thought my biggest concern buying a ticket for a Turnpike Troubadours show is that there are going to be too damn many people there? I remember seeing them when they were a middle-of-the-bill band at festivals. Times have changed.

Ok, jacking up prices $50 3 minutes into the presale without telling anyone that the advertised $199 GA ticket price was just a teaser — not a good look. And then $40 of fees on top of that. Still a hell of a lineup but advertising a $200 ticket price when most folks are going to pay $300 for that ticket just makes you scratch your head. Why would you do that?

$39 in “fees” per ticket. Paid it but pissed.

GA tickets are now up to $275. This is some LiveNation f##kery.
